I have only seen Alex presenting once or twice, but she did many stints on Real radio that I have listened to over the years and she is great! Absolutely fab! I loved her - really warm and hilarious. Though she is very welshy!
Here is an interesting thing, last weeks episode of BBC Two comedy Rev featured the character Adam Smallbone appearing on The One Show with hilarious consequences.
This episode was first shown last week but is already out of date as it features Adrian Chiles and Christine Bleakley presenting. The most recent episode of The Royle Family has a similar problem, but at least that went out before Chiles quit.
I suspect the clips of the show featured in Rev are the first time The One Show was shot in HD and the only time with the two former presenters.
Anyway, here is the clip which also features some brief gallery shots.

Nope. The One Show scenes in Rev were upconverted SD, shot using The One Show's SD facilities, long before any HD upgrades had taken place. The only HD stuff will have been the behind-the-scenes camera.
The BBC press office states, and I quote, "The BBC today, Monday 26 July, confirmed that Alex Jones will be joining The One Show team to present BBC One's popular flagship show alongside Jason Manford... Alex and Jason will host The One Show every Monday to Thursday from 16 August, with Chris Evans hosting Fridays from 20 August on BBC One."
This seems to suggest Alex will only be partnered with Jason, with Chris presenting alone? Newspaper reports seem to contradict that.

Sounds to me like it's just a badly worded sentence. I doubt Chris will present alone.
Alex said in her BBC Five Live interview that shes 'happy to do Monday to Thursday' so maybe Chris is presenting alone?
Definitely sounds like Chris is on Fridays by himself, unless they'll announce another high-profile presenter later (which wouldn't make much sense to me).
