On a similar subject, what about editing the subject of this thread to put some capital letters in the right places?

How did Penn and Teller make Louise Minchin levitate today? They also did the same thing on Sky News this afternoon and used the exact same spiel. We didn't see the photograph on Sky News either. What did it show?

Ive decided what they should do

Has to be said I didn't think Chris Hollins fitted with the programme, but Louise Minchin and Matt Baker are pretty good! Agreed with earlier posts that the show is bigger than its hosts.

Yep - the films and reporters are as important as the presenters - and the whole is bigger than the sum of its parts.

However pick a duff pair of presenters and it won't work as well... The show can't be uncomfortable to watch - and bad presenter pairings can be REALLY uncomfortable.

I think Matt and Louise are doing a good job so far - both have done the show before, and so must know the ropes, and both are really relaxed doing live TV, and it shows.

I felt uncomfortable watching Monday's show, the guest was Martin Shaw, and they opened with a spoof 'Professionals' title sequence, then spent 2 or 3 mins talking to Martin Shaw about the show.

AIUI Martin Shaw has never really wanted to talk about that part of his career, I seem to recall he prevented LWT from repeating the series for quite a long time, I don't know how much notice he had on Monday that TOS were going to run that spoof ?

AIUI Martin has moved on and now embraces The Professionals as an important part of his earlier years. He admits he felt it was a millstone for a period, but with 30 years distance can now look back on things differently. The fact that his career is still strong may well inform this view!

It may have been uncomfortable to you because of an assumption that he STILL doesn't want to talk about The Professionals, I watched from home and whilst I wasn't convinced that the titles were required, he appeared more than happy to talk about it, and why he didn't want to talk about it previously.

Fair enough. He's a total professional anyway, so I wouldn't have expected to have easily detected any discomfort from him .

It would have been valid to have mentioned The Professionals era on Parky's show for instance, or a programme like HardTalk, but anyway as you say, he seems happy about the situation now.

Have to say I think she would be a strong presenter. She done other things than just quiz channels. Someone told me once that she did the announcer job on itv1. I say she ONE to watch.
