As has been said. Its silly that they moved it to BBC1 as if you hadn't seen all the episodes on 2 you wouldn't know what was happening and then you get loads of viewers not getting it

Yeah but if it was a comedy drama, surely it was worth more than one laugh? (As said previously, there was just one juvenile funny moment.)

Just wondering, have you seen the previous episodes on 2?

Well it looks like you don't 'get it'. Don't worry about it. Some people don't get Harry Hill, Alan Partridge, Bo Selecta, Vic and Bob etc, whereas some do.

Perhaps, but you would have thought that The Office, being more 'true to life' would be more accessible. Its just the tool of some ridiculously inflated ego of a nobody (aka Gervais).

Fantastic Comedy. Hysterical and so true to life.

You seem to have some personal vendetta against Ricky Gervais. Granted the programme wasn't as good as the series on 2, but give them credit for not bowing down to Jane Root and the viewers by admitting that the prog should be ended now (Saturday).

It's always been more of a series of sketches than an actual sitcom, hasn't it? Haven't seen last night's one yet, but it sounds like they've fallen into the same trap they did with the last episode of the series proper, viz. too much emphasis on tying up the story, rather than actually having jokes.

Is Stirling Gallagher now too high and mighty what with being in "Doctors" to appear in "The Office"? I don't see her name in the cast list.

My opinion.

I really don't understand why it's been so popular. It only 'succeeds' by taking the mick out of the stereotypical office environment.

I dislike intensely series which try to look real but aren't.

Classic Sterotypical comedies that worked
- Till death us do part - success - outrageous character with outrageous views
- Fawlty Towers - Character led comedy

I put tThe Office in the category of Those that failed which also incude.
- I'm Alan Partridge
- The Royle Family.

I wouldn't call The Office a failed comedy. Look how successful it has been. The fact is that the traditional comedy shows, which are, say, a dysfunctional family, grumpy manager or landlord, or something set in a shop- like All about me, Hardware, My Family and others are now fading and the 'in' comedies are those that are more real.

There are loads of Cringe worthy DJ's on local radio, Annoying and horrendous bosses etc.

I thought that last nights office wasn't the best, but it was good, and was VERY funny at the end, with the nightclub. The Tim/new women thing wasn't funny, nor was the new receptionist. But maybe that was deliberate. Also loved the dating site and Gareth's board meeting. Classic scenes.

I agree with M@'s general feeling on here. I enjoyed the special and thought it was as good as ever. Looking forward to part 2.

I think comedy is a very personal thing; The Office has never been about creating a 'laugh per minute'. The appeal and humour come out of any empathy and affection the viewer has for one or more characters.

Out of those, I 'don't get' Harry Hill, Alan Partridge and Vic and Bob. I've never seen Bo Selecta....

The Office= the biggest load of overated pants ever. I've watched several episodes, tried to get it, but I just can't. I just don't find it funny.

I don't find it funny either. I sat through the first shows of series 1 and thought I was watching a real, serious documentary! I couldn't understand why my parents were laughing so much at it....... leaves me cold.....

Actually, she's in it tonight, so, er, that's me told.

Well so far I have to say that tonight's as expected has been a hell of a lot better, it has been more funnier tonight and again more serious, with the whole Tim and Dawn thing being done very well.
