Seems this is now a similiar pattern - shows moving all over the place on the BBC. The Weakest Link is on saturdays on BBC1 quite often, Little Britain went from BBC3 to BBC1 & Top of the Pops is going from BBC1 to BBC2. And now, to add to all of that, a certain Asian family are saying farewell to number 42 at BBC2 and hello to number 42 on BBC1 as ds reports today Arrow

The Kumars at No. 42 is moving from BBC Two to BBC One, according to The Mirror today.

After four years on BBC Two, the popular show is moving to the BBC's flagship channel, where it is expected to attract new viewers.

"Being my creation, I'm immensely proud of The Kumars and delighted to see it move to BBC One," host Sanjeev Bhaskar told the newspaper. "I hope that it is enjoyed by a wider audience and perhaps this means we can get another knick-knack for the mantelpiece or another cardigan for Granny.

"Like anyone who moves from a house they love, I have a deep fondness for BBC Two and, may I add, mindful of future employment, a profound respect for all BBC channels, including digital and local radio stations."

BBC One controller Lorraine Heggessey added, "It seems natural that Britain's most upwardly mobile Asian family should move to BBC One.

"I'm sure viewers will appreciate the unique brand of humour from our new residents."

The new series begins later this spring.

Do you think it is a good idea moving programmes from one BBC channel to another, or do you think shows like the Kumars & Little Britain's home is on BBC1?

Very Happy

It only averages around 2.5 million viewers so its a surprise.

I doubt it will get more than 4 million on BBC1.
