Sorry I did not, I have now change them to 16:9 thanks for the help. Also here is the 3rd 3e ident 'Snowball' http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TE1hUgxLBb0 . And a promo for Airline has been airing with the 'e' jumping on a suitcase - so possibly a Airline ident.
I couldn't help but notice earlier on but the RTÉ Player is now available to UK users, but for the UK the only things that are available are the News programmes, The Late Late Show, Winning Streak, Lotto and a couple of more programmes. But nevertheless still good to have available.
Some info about the tv3 idents
TV3 promos department the same people who made the christmas ident have been breifed to make more tv3 idents. TV3 will not be getting Image Now the people who made the wave, orchard, billboard, bridge & dog ident to make any more tv3 idents until at least another 6 months.

''The brief for the TV3 Christmas Ident was that the ident followed the theme of the original work done by Image Now – which was positioning the 3 as a normal everyday object in a normal situation – with a normal object taking the shape of the three dimensional 3. I have now briefed the promos dept to start looking at developing further idents for us over the next few months – along the same theme, For the Christmas one, they found a piece of stock footage from Getty Images that was just the slow pan through the trees and the snow, and then they added in the 3. So we are going to look to make some more with the same methodology''.
Also another surprise is that the 3 3e christmas idents were made by tv3 promos team and not the original makers image now.
