The Irish Thread

RTE Two got an new look on Thursday, has anyone got any caps? I thought there should be an RTE thread that was separate from the News One.

EDIT: This thread could expand to all irish channels I suppose.

Really? Can't say I noticed... I liked the old look (it was a room that had weird stuff happening in it). What's the new one like? Im guessing it's ''modern irish young people'' themed.

The idents remind me of Disney Cinemagic

Uugh... looks like a load of twaddle.

I mean... how is it relevant to the channel? How does it relate to the people who watch it?

Although it all looks rather clever I think they may have overdone it. It's a channel ident for goodness sake, just chuck some green paint on a number 2 and be done with it.

Wow. They're really sh*t, they have no relevnce to anything to do with the channel.

Trailers are quite nice, the graphics come in like a concertina (think that's what you call it) and the writing moves left with it. Still... very disappointed. Flatmates saw it and the gist was:

''Oh so the changed Network 2 then? Oh I liked the one with the cows in it... this makes no sense''

I'll give it 6 months.

The green reminds me a bit of ITV2's old idents.

TV3 got a new look in August 2009. The new idents are liveaction rather than graphic. They were created by Image Now which is based in Dublin. At launch there were two idents 'Statue' and 'Billboard', in September a third ident was launched 'Wave'. There will be eight idents made. Examples of the idents can be seen on my YouTube channel 'UKTVIDENT'.
