With August looming in a few months, will GMTV have a revamp?
Now that Mr Holmes has left will we see a new look on our screens?
If so, what kind of changes will we see.
I think they should move to a brand new studio because they have been in that studio since Eamon Holmes and Anne Davies launched it back in 1993.
The Backdrop is also very boring and when they had a revamp back in August last year I thought thank god for that they have got rid of that horrible backdrop, but now it is back again.
If they don't move to a new studio, I hope they change their theme music and graphics also that backdrop behind the sofa

Mad THE CURRENT BACKDROP Mad

How many versions of the set/titles/idents/theme tune have GMTV had? I think TVam changed its set slightly once in nine years, and the music never changed. The titles also stayed the same, and the idents only changed slightly too.

TVam stayed popular without constant changes. Seems these days there is far too many changes to things for change sake. They should have just kept the blinds to hide most of the backdrop.

Well let's see. They had the first set that didn't last for long, then the classic set with the blinds across all windows and the ever changing coloured sofa, then onto the last set around 1999 just before the rebrand of the logo in 2000.

Titles and music wise, they've had the main 1993 long titles, they kept that music up until around 1997/98 when they introduced the pre 2000 top of the hour funked up version (that I loved). Then in 2000 they introduced the short GMTV sting and the current GMTV Today version that was ditched in September 2003 but then replaced after two days.

As for the background, I'd love to see it change, as I've said before, I couldn't see a problem with the one they introduced last august, plus the way that the used the set (as it was new at the time) was great, remember the random flashing lights at the start and end?

Well I did like the new set and backdrop when it was introduced. Seems they were a bit too quick to change it back rather than let people get used to it.

Also when GMTV started it was good to see it wasn't just a clone of TVam.. however that soon changed and its been pretty awful ever since, the only thing I liked about it was the original music.

As stated the set was much better when it launched last August:

I can't believe how realistic that backdrop looked. Why they can never go with change is beyond me. I'm sure regular viewers wouldn't stop watching because of it! The set actually looks like a live appartment in those views. And then they changed it all, stop using the fancy lights so much, brought back the backdrop, added the cushion and then the plants.

Why won't they understand that change is good?
Even if their viewers don't. Or why didn't they get another backdrop created?

That looks not bad, noting cluttering up the set, but now there are flowers and stuff everywhere, just so that it looks like a rehased TV-am from 1985, because GMTV doesn't like change.

I have emailed GMTV now and I hope they take into account the fact that they need to replace that ancient backdrop.
Would it be possible if we could get a petition together and everyone who doesn't like the backdrop and all them tacky plants should email GMTV to tell them.

the flashing lights were so fab. i love the classic 93 GMTV theme and titles (even though the big swooping logo at the start still scares me to this day). They have done a nice job of keeping a similar theme whilst keeping it new and fresh at the same time.

Is there a collection fo MP3s of the different theme tunes around? I've got the full 93 mix but no others.
