Is a flaw in the reallocation plan. Freeview should have moved the adult channels first then ditched the original slots when they moved the original channels.
But they're not? Kids used to be in the 100s and adult in the 200s. Now kids are in the 200s and adult in the 600s! So they're further away now than before.
The so-called adult channels in the 200s are actually just placeholders saying they've moved - they shouldn't have bothered with that.
It's not even that - from the screenshots I've seen it seems that for some people who haven't retuned CBeebies HD has been picked up in the 200s in it's new position amongst the old text channels, which include the Rabbit dating channels, which are text based and being written up in these articles as "adult channels". I'm sure most papers are only reporting it to use the headline "CBoobies".
Yes. Most modern TVs and STBs have some sort of parental controls on them. Some even have the option to move channels to different numbers, so if they're that concerned, they can just ship the "dodgy content" off up into the higher LCNs away from CBBC.

Not so much about having them stop up but denying them access to television, or at least broadcast television. My parents didnt allow me a TV in my bedroom until I was 16. Different era nowadays I know with smartphones etc but still, any parent worth their disciplinary salt concerned enough with a few fleshy flashes on TV would also be red-hot on what their kid is watching anyway, and when (and how) they are watching it. Otherwise it's merely foisting their own lackadaisical approach to parenting onto others.

I was allowed a 14" B&W set at 10, but wasn't allowed to watch tv at night in my bedroom. It comes down to discipline at the end of the day.
You'd think the plastic slapper channels would have already warned their *ahem* viewers on Freeview about the move well in advance. If so, the placeholder messages on the vacated channel numbers wouldn't really be needed.
It's funny that they decided to spend time tweeting away and selling the newspapers stories about it but apparently can't take the time to adjust TV settings and actually block the channels.
Foolish.
