The photo's from 2008, which seems like yesterday to me.

Nine years ago then would have been 1999, which feels like a much bigger gap in time.

Tis scary how that era feels like yesterday.

Hmm, a lot has changed in 8 years. Streaming IPTV was in it's infancy, most people still had basic phones, VHS was in decline, but still in most peoples homes, having 512MB of RAM was 'fast' and I remember being sold 10MB broadband by Virgin!

Geez, it hasn't been BBCi since, um, well it hasn't for the last decade or so has it? Wink
It hasn't been BBC News 24 for quite some time either!

The VHS recorder is another sign.

To be fair - unless they've changed the picture, that looks like a DVD player (slot on the left looks too small to take VHS tapes, and more like a disc tray)

More worrying is that they've use a picture with an SD Sky+ box in it to illustrate a story about Freeview Play...

The black bit on that DVD player is the digital display.

Quest+1 apparently has a 24 hour schedule on the EPG (from the early hours of today) - has Discovery actually acquired any capacity?

BT Showcase HD has launched, on LCN 115. Nothing to see here, apart from the fact that it's using up what would have been decent capacity for Freeview.

Except if it means they can get rid of the SD version that's a huge financial saving.

It depends on whether their arrangement to show free Champions League games stipulates a particular level of coverage, because if it doesn't they can now close the SD one.
