They're really showing that ident in Wales? Oh for God's sake.... What next - a cross of St George before the regional news? Maybe it's good we don't have ITV1 Scotland yet.

Looks like the host broadcaster has already messed up with the graphics. We got about 3 seconds look at each team lineup. This was after about 15 seconds of a close up of a football net.

Replays seem pretty quick with Sky Sports style replay bumpers.

Not a great start for Portugal all round. We had pictures breaking up, a two second look at the Greek team and the subs (we didn't even see the Portugese team), and in footballing terms Greece has just scored. (albeit it'll probably end up like Scotland v Brazil)

The interactive is working fine on DTT and NTL Digital Cable! ITs very strange to actually get the interactive service working correctly on NTL but there is a cool PRESS RED logo in the top right from which you can select 3 different sound tracks (normal, analyst or five live commentary) also there are two other vision options aswell - one full of highlights and not sure what the difference is on the other one!

But its all working fine (for once) on NTL and DTT!

Double YAY!

Interactive is also working on Telewest, although it did take about 20 minutes of the programme before it appeared on the BBCi bridge.

Poor Portugal so far, eh?

Is there any need for this kind of xenophobia on the forum ?

Bonus points to Eurosport for concentrating on the game in hand and not, like the BBC, talking for two minutes and then going on about England. (Although I suspect that has more to do with lack of resources and access to the team than anything else)

Oh well, time for the usual debates - who's "we"? Razz

A shame there's no way an opt-out can be arranged for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, which makes up a fifth of the UK, but seeing as ITV1 has already come up with an English ident for Wales, I'm not expecting any consideration for the rest of the country. Would be nice to see SMG do something, but I ain't holding my breath... It's inevitably a tricky situation for the broadcasters to handle - most of your audience lives in England, so you cater for that audience - but it's always a nightmare for us neutrals (and not so neutrals) up here in Scotland.

Both ITV and BBC have scots as their key pundits, but do you see me complaining ? Rolling Eyes

Quite - it's just moan after moan here, isn't it?

You'd be disappointed if I did anything else but moan, surely....

Yay - it's Barry Davies' first "Oh dear" of the tournament.

Slightly more productively, having a token Scot on each panel doesn't substantially change the content of the programme.
