Nonsense - it was a debatable decision. Personally I thought it was a foul, because one of the England player seemed to be holding the keeper down by the shoulder (whether entirely deliberate or not). I can see the viewpoint of those who see it the other way, and reckon goalkeepers are too protected. We do need that rule absolutely made clear. But in no way was it a clear cut bad decision.
You want a bad decision which costs a team an important match? I think you need to look back to 1966 for that. England's only victory in a major tournament came from a terrible decision from a linesman - you're not really in a position to complain about any refereeing decision ever again.

They're only there because of an incompetent refereeing decision by Urs Meier and I hope UEFA learn something from this tournament.
Justice was done tonight and I, for one, am very happy.

If you're referring to the Rugby World Cup:
1. I meant only major victory in a football tournament, because that's what we were talking about.
2. Rugby is a terrible, terrible sport, which I have no interest in whatsoever.
If you're thinking of something else, let me know. If it's rugby, of course I didn't miss that, how the hell could I have with programmes like "England: A Celebration" being networked on ITV (and hence shown on the likes of Scottish TV and ITV1 Wales ).

Yes, because all players now jump with their arms pinned to their sides.
Portugal eventually got what they deserved - they shouldn't have been in that final at all. Greece deserved, across the tournement, what they got - they were worthy winners.

Well I'm never going to agree with you, but I suspect we've gone through all the arguments before, and it is a TV presentation forum rather than football, so I'll let it rest.
I'm happy Greece won as they were complete underdogs. You, for a completely different reason, are happy that Greece won. Fair enough.

The game,of course,was dull.
But don't you think the studio presentation was even duller.

I'd rather anyone won other than the Portugese *******! Apart from Germany, obviously.
I think if you watch the footage and virtual reality reconstructions very, very slowly, then you will see that Campbell's goal was just that - BLATANTLY a goal.
We was robbed that night and we should have been playing tonight.

Then there's the Darius Vassell question.
It goes like this. If Michael Own fell under a bus tomorrow and we thought of who could replace him - why does the name Darius Vasell always come up ?

Don't know if this has been posted in this thread before, but Euro 2004 lost interest for me once England were out so I didn't read it all, but on the endcap on ITV the coverage was credited as a 'Central/ISN Production'. In the past, UEFA coverage was a 'Carlton/ISN' Production'. Is the Central brand getting a look in again then?
