Dead Set was superb last night.

Best thing on TV in ages.

Really looking forward to tonight's show.

Tonight through to Friday will be 35 minute long episodes instead of 1hr 10 mins as last night's was.

Then they will air all of the episodes back-to-back on the weekend to make one big feature film type-of-thing.

I'm guessing Charlie Brooker said he would only make the programme for E4 if they removed all the DOGs, credits, etc from the screen (as we know from Screenwipe he hates all of that on-screen DOG rubbish).

I think it was the only time I've ever seen E4 without a DOG (apart from when their DOG system crashes) and the only programme I've ever seen (except Spooks) that doesn't show credits on the screen.

Interesting opener to the episode as well - when the E4 announcer spoke over the top of the Dead Set logo instead of a normal E4 ident and gave us many warnings of graphic images throughout, etc.

I unavoidably (sp) missed it last night so I'm glad it's being repeated over the weekend.

That pic of Davina is a bit gruesome as well.

I think i might have enjoyed it more if the camera had stayed still for a minute so could actually see what the hell was going on. Rolling Eyes

Also, call me old fashioned, but I prefer the good old fashioned "Braaaainnns" zombies that you can run away from but choose not to.

I caught part 4 last night and it looked good, but the camera work just seemed all over the place, it also had a feeling like i should be watching it in HD, especially when the zombie went into the house, my head was spinning.

God, I thought we were beyond moaning about shaky camera work around here. Leave that to Points of View.

It wouldn't have had the same chaotic effect if it was a locked camera.

The credits thing is nothing new. Chris Morris did that on Jam. Each show ended with www.jamcredits.com and a production slide.

That link doesn't work anymore. I actully liked the way it ended without credits.

This one does. http://www.e4.com/deadset/credits.html

They weren't talking about Dead Set...

Just watched(Well, part watched it Embarassed )

I found the cynical guy at the beginning quoting various things charlie has said in screenwipe was good.

Thought the gore was a bit to much 'Gore for Gores sake' but hey, i play tf2, I'm used to gore.

The zombies were pretty awesome too.
All in all, it was rather good, will watch ep2 on 4oD when its available.

Anyone notice that when Krishnan Guru-Murthy's newscast got cut off it went to SMPTE Colour Bars (used only in NTSC countries like North America) - something that wouldn't be used on the UK/PAL system?!

Other than that(!) thought it was good! When I read about "zombies attacking the BB house" I found it hard to imagine how it wasn't going to be an overly tacky student film - but it was actually quite scary - not bad!

I know - nothing much really happened in the episode but when it ended it was all over too soon. Look forward to it tomorrow.

I don't get though why they can't spare 30-seconds for the credits but have time for a 2-minute recap at the beginning.

I'd put it down to the fact that the credits appear to have been cut for dramatic effect and not due to time constraints in my opinion Smile
