Brillant news! Very Happy

I've not been a fan of Mr Thompson since he took over Saturday Showdown's slot. I hope ITV manage to slip in some live links in between the programmes with Holly and Stephen Wink

I doubt Saturday Cooks will be coming back, the ratings have been attrocious. Still, it might teach ITV a lesson that nicking a successful show from another channel doesn't work. I doubt it though.

In the programming list for December on ITV1 there's a show with a similar name "Christmas Cooks" so it looks like Mr Thompson will be returning in December.

It often does work, just not for ITV. Paul O'Grady being the biggest example
Plus in ITV's plans, the BBC were probably supposed to let Saturday Kitchen end and move on, not compete with an identical show

That begs the question, what will they replace it with? Not kids programming on Saturday mornings again? Shock horror!

I'm guessing that that would already have been commissioned with the original series, though I may be wrong. I still doubt we'll see another ITV Sat Morning show, even if Saturday cooks is axed, sadly.

Well I hope Saturday Cooks is axed, it shouldn't be here. I'm glad that CITV is getting its hours back but what's going to happen to saturday mornings? Are they going to make a new programme to replace Saturday Showdown?

I don't watch saturday morning kids tv because of my age but it would be nice if they looked back at the other vintage sat am shows like Wow and Scratchy because it would give them ideas.

In the Real World, No. Though as popular Saturday Morning programmes were a few years ago, they cost a load of money to produce and in the last year they haven't been getting the ratings their previous programmes had, mainly because kids have more choice these days and programmes on other channels might have something more tempting to your average child.

The only reason why CITV has reappeared on Weekday afternoons and Saturday Lunchtime is that the amount of Kids advertising in the run up to Christmas will no doubt increase and if ITV show a cheap repeat and get some viewers, the advertisers will be pleased, so why not cash in? It's common sense, they can kill two birds in one stone by pleasing Ofcom with the quota of programmes and for ITV to get the revenue.

After Christmas CITV will probably be back to how it was before the other week. Signs are pointing that Saturday morning shows won't come back, ITV want to cut down Childrens shows to two hours per week on ITV1 (9.25am to 6.00am, not including GMTV), they've shutdown ITV Productions Kids, CITV Channel is nothing but repeats and imports, as well as any Disney stuff they can get from GMTV

I'll leave you to do the maths...

In 2007 at 9.25am on Saturdays, I can see either more cookery programmes or Films, or I dare not say it but talk shows, they get the ratings at 9.25am on a weekday, how about the weekend? You never know what ITV will do next....
