so how on earth will there make up there 8 hours per week>?

Its an average during the year. In the lead up to Christmas they might show 2 hours every afternoon which, adding weekends, would be well over 8 hours a week.

Just looking through the Digital Spy forums and the exact same issue has come up and "tom0101" has answered about GMTV Kids being under CITV? Maybe that makes up almost 6 hours a week?

GMTV's output does not count towards ITV's, so when you see CITV on ITV1 during GMTV's time, it's GMTV's quota being broadcast.

I think ITV just broadcast whenever it's commercially viable, which is obviously in the run up to Christmas, the run up to Easter and Christmas holiday mornings, ie before 6.00am when some kids are probably up earlier than what they usually are.

All that they've done for the channel is create special animations with cakes, balloons and cards, etc. with Tim mentioning it over them.

It's a shame that the channel doesn't put more effort in, with live programming and live in vision, letting them lead the way, even if it is Tim in a broom cupboard style set up.

They do put a lot of effort into presentation though, they keep updating the look, and it does look very good, it's just a shame that they don't have great new original content and in vision, if only.

I agree, it does look great at the moment, and they do keep updating the look quite often it seems. If only Holly & Stephen were back on Saturdays with MOM/ Showdown!

It is a shame that even just 1 year on, the faces that launched the channel are no longer there. I don't see the problem with ITV. They could get their quota out on ITV1 by giving kids the saturday & sunday 925 - midday slot, and run other programmes afterwards. Then use the channel to show tots programmes in that slot so that the itv1 viewers would go over to the channel.

I never understood the idea of showing showdown on two channels to then go and turn away the audience by showing tots programmes.

Maybe a Saturday & Sunday morning show?
