They’re still huddling together during the push backs as well, so it’s all a bit odd

And the contestants hug each other? This doesn't seem very well thought through.

They're not following guidelines at all. All the contestants are touching each other when they walk back to the desk and Bradley is all over them.

Hardly worth having the socially distanced desk at all.

Brad still shaking hands. If they're doing all this social distancing then going in for a hand shake kinda contradicts the message "Hands, Face, Space".

I'm sure Brad washes or sanitises his hands after each contestant so it wouldn't be a huge issue.

It is the simplest thing we're asked not to do. Hugging them as well.

You have Holly & Phil gushing over each other sat far apart telling us all the time how much they can't wait to give each other a hug onscreen again. Loose women sat a mile apart, no touching or contact at all. Corrie characters stood so far apart it looks awkward, no hugging, touching or any form of going near each other. Then this on the Chase, sat socially distanced apart, but then up close for hugs and hand shakes. The new extra wide desk appears to be just lip service to covid rules so the show can still be produced.

All of these ITV's top shows/brands giving out mixed messages. No wonder the general public compliance is all over the shop.

Seems strange that the set has been adapted for social distancing but those on screen don't seem to be bothering. Have I missed something?

The Chase obviously missed the memo to change their distancing behaviour on screen.

From what I’ve seen online, and from what the general public consensus seems to be, when they’re not filming things get a bit relaxed.

ITV using the "close contact cohort" excuse.

“Series 11 of The Chase Celebrity Special was filmed using approved Close Contact Cohort protocols. As such, host Bradley Walsh and the celebrity contestants were able to physically interact for short intervals.

Far too many loop holes in this country when it comes to covid.
ITV should be keeping it simple and sticking to the same message on all of its high profile shows/ brands.

I agree, there’s really no need for them to be touching tbh, many people will see them socially distanced at the desk and understand. Especially since they’re airing now and not in a years time.

Yet again. One rule for us, one rule for another. The other being ITV. Like as if, the pandemic is already over for them.. Rolling Eyes
