Presenters always used to stay about 3 years, which both Gethin and Zoe have, it's only the Konnie/Mat/Liz/Simon crew that broke the mould and hung around for years on end.
That said just leaving that Andy guy (IMHO still a really poor presenter) as the longest serving host on a format that still hasn't gelled despite all the tinkering isn't a good move. The Christmas episode was a case in point - I don't care they axed all the nativity/pantomime/presents/carols crap (that seemed out of date when I watched the show in the early 90s, and from what I hear they covered a lot of it in other shows this year), but what replaced it was just dire!
I do think unfortunately now that BPs days are numbered. The fact three presenters have left en masse really means any form of continuity is lost - something that's really kept Blue Peter going in the lat few years. Much like Grange Hill, with the insistence to aim for a younger demographic, the whole nature and atmosphere of the programme has changed. The send off they gave to Konnie was unbelievably weak too - setting her up with "Prank Patrol" to be in a fish farm, and then other presenters being in fish costumes?! Where are the days of the spectacles - like John Leslie's famous abseil down TVC? The loss of a proper exapansive studio has really shown through too in my opinion.
In many ways, I think the BBC should honestly consider pulling BP now. Leaving it just so it can celebrate its 50th anniversary seems really unnecessary - for the Blue Peter as we knew it has long passed. I know it's in the thread a way back, but Biddy Baxter has been on the record and saying it should be scrapped if it went too far from the original format. In my opinion, its got to that stage now. I suspect at the very latest BP to last until the move to Manchester. As soon as the BBC do that, I expect it to be BPs death knell. It is a terrible shame, but equally why continue producing a programme, for the sole reason of producing it?
The days of BP will definitely be numbered if they don't get a strong presenting team together.
However in the late 70s there was a dodgy " turnover " patch when Simon Groom, Tina Heath and Chris Wenner came in with the latter two leaving within two years of joining... And it survived that.
Lizo has left Newsround. Today was his final day and he's now going to be at the main BBC News department now. Just mentioned in the main show of Newsround.

Missed that, any special montage or anything? He was there when I was a young CBBC viewer!

I think I just caught the last few minutes of it, but not from I can tell. (Pretty bad if they didn't since he was one of the longest running presenters on Newsround)

I'm sure they gave one of the presenters who'd been there for just a few years one when she left - and Lizo who's been there for years got nothing? Pretty bad. It's not like they were stuck for things to put in.
