An email from the Big Big Cheese ordered Ed to help out with SMart, so looks like he'll be helping to present that. (He's quite a good drawer as well)

Paramount and Nick pass through there too on the way to uplink - when it caught fire a few years ago Paramount was taken off air.

I'm sure Paramount does, but didn't Nick come from somewhere else in Central London?

Note the emphasis - I'm not talking about the playout/pres centre

Blue Peter's Zoe Salmon to quit....

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7411099.stm

Ironically I tuned in to BP for the first time in years today - what a difference! There's no atmosphere anymore it seems. It's more like some glorified appeal show now.

So what's going to happen, just one presenter and then it'll be dropped after 50 years?

Another presenter jumping ship then - Zoe Salmon is quitting at the end of the series too.

Quote:
Zoe Salmon is quitting Blue Peter, it has been announced.

The 28-year-old is leaving the BBC children's show after three-and-a-half years. Zoe, a former Miss Northern Ireland, has signed up to present a new gameshow on children's channel CBBC.

The law graduate made her debut on the 2004 Christmas show.

...

Zoe's last day will be on June 25, at the end of the current series.

They can't get off this sinking ship quick enough - three hosts leaving in one series, unprecedented.

You win then - I found that story by complete accident looking for some Big Brother news. Blue Peter's days seriously seem numbered.

How long has Andy been there - did he start last year or was it the year before - and will Gethin and Zoe be leaving together then, or is Gethin going first?

It's not a competition Brek, I was only pointing out I'd just posted it before you.

Anyway, yeah I agree, from what I've seen they may as well just have a big bash for their 50th with all the past presenters they can get, have a devoted evening to BP on BBC2 again or something and conclude in putting the show to bed. I'm sure it won't be long (now Zoe's going) before there's a press release announcing the axing of Blue Peter but who knows.

Looks like Zoe will be leaving at the same time as Gethin

Surely then they'll have to bring in the new presenters before hand, especially if they're still doing a Summer Expedition (wouldn't surprise me if that's another tradition axed though!).

My thinking is that they may do some serious thinking over the summer.

Today they said that they would be back in September with all the news after the olympics. The show had the same sort of set up with presenters doing challenges, etc. , but for me it's the shouting from the crew when they're doing the challenges, and a weird mix of backing music and the set.

To be honest it wasn't that much different to previous series today, except for the point above.
The one thing that I have noticed is that they seem to only be doing reports about people and children, not much history and science that they used to do quite well.
