Just saw Ed plugging the SMart website at the ~5pm junction into Newsround - he was inviting viewers to submit their artwork for the new series, later this year. Surprising after Mark Speight's death, although I suppose it's what he would have wanted.

Mark Speight had left the programme in February after the inquest into the death of his fiancée, so in all honesty it wouldn't have mattered to him whether there was a new series or not as he'd have had nothing to do with it anyway.

The BBC have stated that the Mark Speight episodes of SMart (which is basically all of them) are unlikely to be repeated again. Not quite sure what they're trying to do with that. The kids know he's dead, they sent thousands of comments to the Newsround website. They probably worked out ages ago that they've seen the same episode at least four times already and that's its not all done live.

You're looking at it in a strange way. As if people will watch the show and completely forget that the presenter who really made the show what it is has suddenly gone, and completely forget.

I can understand why they may not wish to immediately repeat episodes, however long term not repeating any series up till now is rather daft in my opinion.

Maybe they should opt not repeat the recent series where they're in the current set, but repeat the older series. Thus people should realise it's a repeat due to the older set (in case some how they hadn't heard of Mark's death).

The death of Mark Speight was a pretty traumatic occurrence for such a young audience, so I don't think it would be right to repeat his series.

Revisiting such shock and grief when one isn't particularly equipped to do so can have serious consequences.

Its sad that his body of work won't see the light of day again but you have to be very, very careful about what you expose children to.

Sam Nixon's Facebook status currently says "cant wait for a certain show to start making its 3rd series wink wink!!"

I'm guessing that's official confirmation of a new series of TMi then!

Is it too soon to advertise TMi 3 yet? Afterall they're advertising SMart.

Ahem.

You forget that TMi may be broadcast at a different time to SMart . For example, TMi might be broadcast on Saturday at 9am, while SMart may be broadcast at 4:30pm on weekdays.

Hate to tell you, but I don't think it is TMi, as there has been 2 series of Level Up, with the second series renamed Do Something Different.

Well then technically they aren't the same programme.
I wouldn't have said that Do Something Different was a renamed Level Up at all. Though Level Up was better mainly because it was live.
TMi blows both out of the water though.

I just wish that they could see what great talent they have in Sam & Mark, and when Caroline is with them, the 3 of them work brilliant.

I'm not saying give them a TMi 52 week commission, but they should at least have the old 30 week commission that Live & Kicking (and presumebly the Saturday Morning before it) were given, and maybe even give them a bigger studio to possibly include an audience, and give them the funding for not better guests (as the ones that have been on TMi have been quite good), just more of them, and give them the 9-11.45 slot back. TMi followed by Sportsround would give a great lead in to Switch on BBC Two keeping viewers with BBC Two rather than going off to T4.

It would be nice to have a big budget Saturday Morning show back on any channel, how children's TV was allowed to get to this stage is beyond me.

TMi's STARTING AGAIN!!!! WHOPPPEEEEE.
I don't think they should include an audience for TMi, just go back to the LS1 Studio, and do some OB's. Definitely make the series longer, the last was only about 12 weeks. Wonder if Sam's doing it for the show, or for Caroline Wink
I didn't hear an apology either during Series 2, considering they were another programme in the phone-in scandals

Sam and Mark said on Something For The Weekend a while back they wouldn't be doing Level Up/DSD style show again.

I thought Caroline Flack was going to host BB's Little Brother?
Digital Spy says two different people are now hosting:

Supposedly it was a decoy to throw the media off the scent. The roumer was that Caroline would present it with George Lamb off BBC Radio 6Music. However I think it was someone who got over excited by what they read in Heat. Rolling Eyes
