Not sure if it's been posted here before, but the CBBC channel's service licence has been changed - link (pdf file) - with the effect that they no longer has to show schools programming, and hence Class TV has gone for good. So no more ancient episodes of Look and Read, and instead more airtime to show even more repeats of Tracy Beaker.
I really don't think it's right that the channel should be showing programmes aimed at an audience of 6-12 year-olds who shouldn't be available to watch - plus it's a tremendous waste of bandwidth. It'll never happen, but if only they'd merge the CBBC and CBeebies channels (with CBeebies making up most of the airtime) and then the channel space could be used in a more worthwhile way, such as extending BBC Four into the daytime.

I think the channel should age range should grow to 14 or 15.
They will never merge the channels because before cbbc was rebranded cbeebies did better in views than cbbc. Not sure now. cbbc should be on till 8 and bbc three starting at 8 it will make it better i think. I think that the other channel of news should be axied as it was the lowest channel watched last year out of all channels. may be make bbc four 24 hours and cbbc can stay on longer. however it will not happen!

Is this what happened to the old CBBC set?
I wondered what they would now do for tours, seeing as lots of stuff has moved elsewhere. It also explains why we saw the set shortly after links changed to CSO - they were filmed ona handheld camera.

This is very dissapointing. i used to like watching repeats of old schools programmes on Class TV and was actully wondering where Class TV had got to!
oh well just repeats of CBBC Programmes that have been shown thousands of times before!
