There's no longer one on CITV (well I don't think so).

No, CITV chose not to recomission Art Attack IIRC. I said before the business in the past week that the BBC should enquire about poaching Neil Buchanan. They might not be able to use Art Attack as a format (although I don't see why, I think he owns it) but they could certainly work with him to make a great art programme for CBBC since ITV don't want it anymore

Maybe I'm just imagining things but I remember Art Attack being produced by The Foundation and not CITV, so CBBC could actually pick the show up?

The strangest thing about ITV not recommissioning Art Attack, is the fact that now they are at a point where they're going to start commissioning a few programmes again they've chosen to commission finger tips, which ended a few years previous to art attack, but has gained viewers through repeat showings on the channel.

As for SMart, maybe they should look at other formats, or ways to do things. There will always be young eccentric artists around. The thing with SMart is that (until the last series) not only did it do the art attack style makes, but it also did the background on artists and location pieces that made it a bit different.

I have a funny feeling they'll just keep SMart. Slightly different scale but when Richard Whiteley died most of us thought that would be the end of Countdown but alas not.

Also, you have to consider whether the other presenters (i.e Kirsten) would want to carry on without Mark.

Art is one of the best forms of creativity for children and I agree an art show should remain on CBBC whatever.

Yes, but Whiteley died in peaceful circumstances.

Art Attack was made by Media Merchants which was brought by SMG media.

The Media Merchants was bought by Gullane Entertainment which itself was bought by Hit Entertainment. SMG were just the commissioning company (they took over all TVS children's programmes).

Ah, is that that for How 2 then, which was always credited with SMG?

Yep that and Finders Keepers, I can't think of any other shows that Scottish TV took over. What's Up Doc was always a Scottish TV programme really, despite it being credited as a TVS programme initially.

As for the Media Merchants, it was owned by Neil and Tim Edmunds (Producer) and formed out of the team that made Art Attack and of course also produced shows like Zzzap!

"Lol" and "Bouncer" from tracy beaker who present CBBC at the weekend will be replacing Ed & Oucho next week because they've gone on holiday.
And I think Anne Foy has left CBBC because she is no longer on the CBBC stars book thing -CBBC Stars . And I saw a promo for escape from skorpian island whch the announcer on the ad said Sunday but look at the screen and it says Saturday.

Can't find the opening titles I remember on there though, which I remember being black and white for some reason (maybe because it was the mid-90s when black and white was the trendy thing)

Those would be the 1994 titles you are talking about, which you can download here:

They were used until 2001, and then were probably only replaced because of the move to widescreen production.
