Ellie Crisell left to go on maternity leave today. So as from Monday, Jake Humphrey will be presenting Newsround.

I'm sorry?

What's wrong with Laura or Lizo, who often present it on Ellie's days off?

Just seen a few minutes on the Newsround website (purely for research purposes, of course), and Jake looks very unnatural - Ellie always had a script, wheras Jake seem to have his hands glued to his trousers.

Indeed, why isn't Lizo presenting?

Jake is obviously a golden boy at the BBC, getting lots of different presenting gigs thesedays

It didn't seem right today. Granted there weren't big stories for Newsround to cover, but when he came on stood with his legs wide and hands in his pocket, and ended by saying that he's filling in for Ellie for a few months and to let him know what you think of him and newsround, etc. made it very weird.

Hopefully a script will be added, though I don't see what's wrong with Lizo, or even Adam (is he still with newsround?), or any of the journalists rather than using Jake.

I saw Adam on News 24 the other day as political correspondent...

It seems Newsround is slowly but surely infiltrating and taking over BBC News from the inside...

What next, Lizo on Question Time?!

I think he'll hit retirement before Lizo is offered a job outside Newsround. Made me laugh when someone mentioned his name and the word "journalist" in the same sentence.

I'm sure though once the final movies are out in the next couple of years Newsround will no longer be requiring their Harry Potter Correspondent.

At least though if Jake Humphrey is on Newsround it'll keep him away from BBC Sport for a while - hopefully!

Lizo was one of the corrispondants at one of the major consitutencies in the last BBC Genral Election Live shows I believe

Any news on CBBC's ratings since it moved to the earlier slot on BBC1 - especially for Blue Peter and the other 5pm programmes.

Apparently, ratings have suffered badly. On 15 February Basil Brush's game show and Freefonix combined got just 0.3 million, and two weeks ago only ONE CBBC on 1 programme reached 300, 000 viewers between 5 and 16.

My source wonders if CBBC is connecting properly with its audience in view of these figures.
