I presume that the games with the animal teams and the majority of the sketches were recorded.
I'd think that the rest of the show was live.
Very good first show I thought. The whole package seems to flow nicely. The set is lovely, and they made a great programme. I wonder why they're only commissioning short programmes. Could it be to see which, if any work the best and commission that to run longer.
Though I still like the idea of them having 26 weeks each, Swap Shop & TMi, whether it be in long series, so TMi September - March, Swap Shop March - September, or 13 weeks.
As for Uncle Max, I presume that the rights to broadcast have run out with CITV and CBBC have picked them up. It would explain why CITV played them out so much before Christmas.

That definitely is the same crew who worked on MOM/Saturday Showdown i heard laughing in the background this morning on Swap Shop. I personally would have prefered TMi to continue after Christmas and have Swap Shop as the summer filler.
They're also making nice use of props area at Maidstone i see.

This was an independent production, the only link it had to CITV was an address on the end-credits which I dare say would be easy enough to replace as the appropriate segment will be clean on the transmission tape anyway.
In any case, the network switch might very well have something to do with the upcoming DVD release of the first part of this series in March.
Getting it out to a wider audience and all that, it'll be seen wider in the 3:40pm of CBBC One than it ever would in any slot on the CITV Channel.
Or as previously stated, the transmission rights have expired (seems a bit of an odd time for that though, since the series only first went out 23 months ago on CITV on ITV1) and have been picked up by CBBC. I wonder if CITV are going to offload a whole bunch of programmes at some point?

Not really because the last programme wouldn't have covered everything and there's probably more variety in a different location than there would have been last time round.
In any case its interesting to see how today's kids cope without having a mobile phone, television, computer, Internet, Xbox, Playstation... Surprised most of them didn't walk last time through boredom

Just seen a trailer for a new series of Evacuation - anybody else think they're milking a succesful format? Surely it's the sort of thing they can only do once? If they want to do it again, pick a different time!

The BBC has confirmed that it will shunt its BBC1 children's programmes including Blue Peter to an earlier slot so BBC2 quizshow The Weakest Link can replace Australian soap Neighbours on the flagship channel.
The major change will see the start of children's programming on BBC1 shunted 20 minutes earlier in order to allow The Weakest Link to run from 5.15pm before the Six O'Clock News.
