Basil's Swap Shop opens for business on CBBC

Children's favourite Basil Brush will get a whole new generation of children swapping this January on CBBC.

Basil Brush brings back Swap Shop

Children's favourite Basil Brush is returning to TV as the co-host of an updated version of classic Saturday morning children's show Swap Shop.
CBBC presenter Barney Harwood has been signed up to present Basil's Swap Shop alongside the puppet fox for a 13-week run on BBC Two.

Each week celebrity guests will appear on the show to trade their goods.

Noel Edmonds and Keith Chegwin presented the original BBC One show, which started in 1976.

And according to Digital Spy it begins on January the 5th

I wonder if this ties in Foundations new Saturday Morning Show as IIRC Basil is made by Foundation?

All of the rumours have actually come together.

Arrow Foundation makes new Saturday morning programme.
Arrow Basil Brush hosts new Saturday morning programme.
Arrow Swap Shop returns.
Arrow Barney Harwood hosts Saturday morning programme.

I'll hold out my judgement until it launches.

Barney & Basil Brush is a little random surely? I would have thought they would have chosen Barney & Nev instead.

According to the UK TV Guide, the show airs from 5h January on BBC2 at 9am and is 60 minutes long. There was no need to get rid of TMi to make way, they could have both existed together.

I think Bob was a toy penguin that would move in circles or straight ahead and would make a xmas tune like jingle bells or something like that. It might of been all the toys because i saw Ross call them all Bob once but I think he just went a bit crazy doing that so I think Bob is the penguin.

When has anybody ever suggested it was gotten rid of?

Tomorrow is the last in the series. I mean they haven't allowed it to play out until March like they usually do Wink

Usually? You mean once before.

I'm not sure it was March.

And as said before in the thread, it's the same run, just it started earlier.

I mean Saturday morning TV on the BBC in general. It usually runs from September-March/April. I'm not specifically on about TMi.

Well, my other point still stands. Wink

Arrow According to the official Basil Brush site it is on from January 5th at 9am and it will also include gungey games. Plus an hour seems too short.
