It reminds me of a cross between the broom cupboard and ITV's PlayDJ studio. From quickly watching it looks like they're using a couple of cameras, presumably locked off, as there didn't seem to be any movement from them. At least it's better than the blue screen continuity in my opinion.

Don't think everything is locked off - this afternoon at least one camera was being re-framed - or they've got more than two.

When's Blue Peter scheduled to be back on air?

I could swear I saw the TMi set through that door. The bit I thought I seen was the balcony area in the old set where the upper floor meets the lower floor.

I see from the " stars " bit on the website they are still using a very old photo of Abs...and on the subject of Abs, I think CBBC could do a lot worse than giving Abs and Rani a Saturday morning show.

Has Smile gone for good?

No. It's TC12 at TV Centre. The Leicester Square TMi studio would be rather expensive for Presentation.....and is no more in any case!

Though TMi may in future come from somewhere other than Leicester Square.

Yeah when its in Studio 9 from this weekend, I guess so, but I also imagine there won't be that balconey area, its a shame as it did split up the studio quite nicely.

Yes - the last ever show was on 26th August - bit silly they couldn't have held on for a week or two longer as Kirstin was still in Edinburgh and couldn't give a proper farewell - appearing only via phone and dodgy webcam!

It's a shame that they've got rid of that too. Do we really need something like Scorpi-pat island? It does look impressive, but its only for 3 weeks!

What's going on with this schedule anyway? Are they stripping the schedule on BBC One as well as the channel? Interesting idea, the only problem is that they won't have enough programmes, unless everything is running for these 3 weeks that scorpion island is on.

That would make it a bit better from CITV's attempt when in September 2002 (or was it 2001?) they tried to strip programmes, yet everything ran at different lengths, they all started on different days, which meant that most series were ending and starting on a day mid week, and they were finishing their run in the first week in october with the christmas special.

I feel Scorpion Island is pretty slow moving. It could do with a faster pace.

Interesting about TMi. That Saturday Mornings site has a lot of useful info on it and are usually right with it and it says:

The second series of TMi (from 8 September 2007) sees a change in the format with the programme moving to a new home in Studio TC9 at BBC Television Centre and the demise of the TMi Flat. The programme's running time has also been reduced from 165 minutes to 90 minutes. The programme will no longer be simulcast on the CBBC Channel, but a repeat of the morning's programme will be shown at 5pm.

So basically its just morphing into yet another Saturday Morning show from what could have been one of the best.
