Ed's on CBBC on BBC1 in the studio Very Happy

It seemed, though, that he was only there to plug the CBBC channel. I like the new studio, though. It's sort of like a mix between the broom cupboard, Short Change 's office and a few Christmas lights.

I wonder how long it will take for CBBC on BBC ONE/BBC TWO to simulcast the CBBC Channel.

What CBBC should do is what Dick and Dom did, where they would play one on cartoon on BBC one and one on the CBBC Channel. So Ed could tell them if they don't like what is on BBC one they can tune into the CBBC Channel or vice versa.

Playing with many camera angles, and I like the fact that they've filled the set with things that pop up and down, etc. Quite a nice little set.

Does anyone else thing that the cactus has a certain Dave Chapman quality about it??

It's a shame they haven't taken the opportunity to revamp Newsround like they did in 2002. But it looks like something's gone wrong with Newsround - the first three minutes were (I would imagine) patronising, and there was no mention of panda bears in the headlines! Shocked

I think it lost it's way ages ago. It never reports real news, like shootings, instead it's all the latest news on global warming. Before anyone says they've never done so, I remember a few years ago when such stories were reported in a tactful way.

The fact that there is no continuity at all, neither in vision or as a voiceover on CBBC One is awful. Even worse than when CITV went out of vision or even the green screen

They are obviously trying to make CBBC One so inferior so they can phase it out within the year

How difficult can it be to record some voiceovers?

They only revamped newsround last year when they started using the screened set. I know it wasn't a major change, but the logo has become very well known, and is simple.

I'm enjoying the studio element of the channel. I agree about them simlecasting and saying on One... where as on the channel... unless of course they're just trying to get more to watch the channel and take programes off one.

I didn't like the way that it just left BBC One without anything, surely this is the oportunity to take viewers over to the channel, and surely the channel could play out a 10 minute filler whilst newsround is on one so that people don't miss scorpion island, or don't miss newsround. Though I suppose that they do have the newsround 5 minute update later on the channel, but then surely the ratings for the one bulletin will drop?

I wasn't suggesting that the logo be ditched, but the last revamp was relatively major - there was a new (albeit good) theme tune, a new title sequence, it moved into TC7, AND... it started to aim for a younger audience. Which has turned it into the blue, patronising gel-like mass it is today.

I can't imagine John Craven, Roger Finn (or Lizo Mzimba for that matter) saying 'many of you will just be starting big school'.

'BIG SCHOOL'!? That IMO is an insult to our children's intelligence.
