Well I guess that makes me boss-eyed then... Rolling Eyes

If a DOG was at the bottom of the screen, it would (in most cases) be below the main action. Being at the top, the reverse usually applies. Which makes it a distraction from what you are trying to watch.

So having a DOG below the main action isn't as distracting as above the main action!?!?

Care to explain?

Are there no links between shows at all now? I have watched three show starts and ends to see what the new host is like, if they have a new set etc and theres nothing, not even a voiceover Confused

Maybe this is unique to me but logos at the bottom on the screen are easier to ignore - as are the new ITV IPPs for the same reason. But still the best DOG is one that isn't there at all.

You still haven't reacted to my previous comment in this thread. I'd imagine because it makes so much sense.

I suspect you are the only one to find the huge new ITV IPPs less distracting than the relatively small previous ones at the top of the screen.

I quite like the new look what I've seen of it, better than the bugs, however I can't help wondering whether sometime it will eventually lead to the end of IVC. Looks as if it could be a much stronger identity than its predecessor, mind you I very much liked the 02-05 look.

I never said they weren't less distracting or horrible - just easier to ignore.

I see what you mean, i think. The package could work well on its on without anything, hopefully that won't be the case. I'm hoping that a pattern will emerge, going back to a broom cupboard style, to return to studio in a few years, and then it all happen again when my kids are younger.

One of the only reasons that CBBC and CITV stopped was because everybody else did - Disney withdrew their Studio Disney, Nick carried on for a bit by creating the crunch which then ended, CITV went out of vision, and CBBC went well into a room where only a green screen lived.

Don't overlook the CBBC Channel this afternoon in favour of getting your re-launch fix on BBC One. As I understand it, BBC One continuity is now completely out-of-vision.

You'll remember from the original press release, it stated Ed "will host CBBC every weekday afternoon" - but didn't specify the Channel or BBC One. Well, you'll find him in-vision on the channel this afternoon (and out-of-vision on BBC One voicing the idents).

Over on the CBBC Channel today there was some new show with Otis and the new guy nicked from Nick presenting. It very very 'old style' with an audience and lots of screaming kids running about the studio. Maybe we shall see the return of the studio set for in vision continuity sometime soon?

So why not just have Uncle Dean, Uncle Duncs or Auntie Becky introducing the BBC1 afternoon programmes then? Or should this be in the BBC cuts thread?

That's not good. Will it be just a first day thing and then they'll pre record bits for tomorrow?

This World of Weird with Ed aired on the channel earlier this year, but it is an old style with the audience, I agree. Interesting that they've decided to reair some different programmes.
