Perhaps they will knock the wall into the gallery, thus creating a larger space.
Won't they need the gallery though, unless theres one close by that they can redirect it to. The studio looked bigger pre 2002 relaunch, when they seemed to close the set in a bit. Remember, theres the old phone room area, but this is also where the make up room is so they may keep that. Surely the old leicester sq. set wasn't that big was it? I'm sure that they won't be able to add the upper deck due to height restraints.
The only thing that they will really miss from the original are the audience gathering in leicester sq, unless they do the old Live & Kicking thing and gather by the gates of TVC (though surely that's only if there's a big name guest).
I think I would personally prefer them to be on longer and include a couple of cartoons.
I wonder if the choice to put it into studio 9 was production idea - to keep it small, a director decision - to get some use out of TC9 or budget restraints. It will be interesting to see how they recreate the set, they do have the windows, though they only overlook the Blue Peter garden that should be interested
