There won't be new logos or idents, just a new set. Basically the same as the current, but bigger and completely rebuilt.

Well with a bigger studio, they'll have more space to build better 'sets' for comedy sketches.
There'll be fewer presenters come Salford too.
Mmm, yes. A shop might be quite a good idea - with visitors/customers coming in - or an actual broom cupboard, or... well to be honest, there's so many ideas that it's a shame they won't explore them.

Are Iain and Chris moving to Salford with the dogs Hacker and Dodge (plus puppeteers!)?
TC
I lead to believe that Hacker and Dodge (& the puppeteers) are moving. Iain is doing a comedy tour in August but has tweeted that he looking for comedy gigs in the north. So I think he moving but weather it a full time thing or just for a short period I am not sure. Chris I think has hinted on his twitter and Facebook that he moving. The only person that I don't know about is London.

Thanks Tom. Chris is a Salford lad - I wonder if he was hired with this move in mind? Hacker's puppeteer Phil Fletcher is based in Wigan so well suited to a move. I get the impression London, and Dodge's puppeteer Warrick Brownlow-Pike, are based in the capital so less well suited. Of course, we live in modern times and this is hardly an absolute preclusion!
I think Iain and Hacker in particular work really well together - I'm 25 and I laugh at the pair! Hope the duo remain. Clearly popular with the kids, seeing as they've been a fixture across weekdays for a good while now (18 months? Edit: No, longer still, more like 2 years now? Remember Hacker tracking down Sue Barker at Wimbledon in June 2009).

Iain tweeted a while back he was going to be based in Manchester Sep-Dec and was looking for gigs then. Not sure if that means it's only a short term thing, or that's only when he's booking gigs at the moment, or that's the current contract he's on - can't breathe too much into it. But will be interesting to see what happens.
Good to hear the set is being expanded a little. You do get the impression they're bursting at the seams trying to do sketches and other bits as well as the links in that space - but the general setup works pretty well (as it did back in the broom cupboard days) so I'm glad that appears to be being retained.

I agree buster. They utilise what must be a small space very well. Where in the room is, for example, Hacker's Kennel? Off to one side, or placed in front of the main desk, moved in as needed? Intrigued how they set it up.

I think it's on the left of the "guest" seating area. There was a link a while back where they had a green wall in that area and were putting lots of different footage in the background - one of which was the main shot of the desk - and Iain walked too far forward and appeared on screen twice, which shows just how small it is (there's some pics a couple of pages back which show the set right up against the walls of the room it's in).

They started on weekends in May 2009, and did weekdays from July 2009. And have been there ever since, apart from December 2009 when they did holiday mornings.

Yeah, this has became regular when they do "Iain and Hacker in your house". The green screen is placed by Hacker's kennel, and to end the link they show a shot of the Office then I+H walk over so they are on screen twice.
