The current set is in a studio they've built in the East Tower isn't it? Originally for the CBBC Channel Newsround bulletins that aren't in TC7

Before this, the office set was indeed in TC10.

What is TC9 used for these days?
Nothing at the moment - it's empty.

Nope - it was TC0, which is now occupied by BBC R&D.

Did it move into TC0 when CBeebies moved out to Teddington?

I have recollections CBBC pres was in TC12 or 13 wasn't it - the same space as TC0 but technically separate? (TC0 didn't have a gallery in the days of CBeebies - it was directed/vision mixed from the floor)

Sorry, I mean to write TC12 - it was there for a time wasn't it? And CBeebies used TC0 from 2002?

Oh, so it was..
(I always confuse TC0 and TC12 because they're right next to each other, and share a door)

Shall we consult a more authoritative source?

...TC0 became the home of BBC Choice's entertainment news show - Liquid News which began broadcasting in May 2000. When this in turn moved upstairs after nearly a couple of years to what had become TC11 the studio was occupied by the presenters of the CBeebies channel from February 2002 until the end of 2007. In January 2008 they rather surprisingly moved to studio 4 at Teddington.

Incidentally - the old sound control room was itself turned into an ad-hoc TV studio for a kids' live interactive puppet series called Nelly Nut in 2004. This room is 35 x 21 ft so is actually very slightly larger than the old Pres A and B. This formally become known as TC12 and for a while was the home of one or two CBBC programmes including Sportsround. It then became the continuity studio for CBBC - the 21st century version of the famous broom cupboard. Early in 2008 that operation moved to a room in the East Tower and the studio was closed. It is now used again as a control room for TC0 by the R&D department and TC12 as a studio no longer exists.

There was a report on Points of View today about CBBC Presenters being too childish.

If we rewind back to 2002, the presenting style was much more 'adult' compared to what it is like now. Perhaps they may move back to that style soon.

I doubt they will unless they start targetting an older audience, but the CBBC of 2002 was very much like T4 if you strip away their need to be 'cool' and 'edgy'. I also find it no coincidence that since they dropped that style, there have been less 'breakthrough' presenters and as a result there is a real shortage and the same few do the rounds on every programme.

Shows that the CBBC bosses don't give their audience enough credit. You could never say the likes of Andi Peters were 'babyish' and neither were the more recent presenters like Angelica and Andrew.

Even before 2002 (yellow era and the old Children's BBC) the presenters were less patronising than these lot.

Compare to now
