The same guy who did Oucho is now Dodge's assistant
Really? I didn't understand why they brought in another dog character - Oucho was far stronger as a character, but I suppose that they didn't want to associate anyone other than Ed with Oucho.
Huge U-turn there, though I think it's definitely a good move. CBBC worked well in the past when it was aimed at children but also teenagers. It will be interesting to see how they brand the teen offering post seven o' clock -many teens now wouldn't think about tuning into CBBC as it is definitely seen as being for primary school children!
And still they talk about extending to 9pm - but exactly where are they going to get the bandwidth from? Are we going to see a situation like with the red button where everything after 7pm on CBBC (or before 9pm on BBC3) is tagged "not on Freeview".
BBC Four is more difficult due to it's news obligations. If half an hour of World News had to be shown at 9pm, then other programming couldn't start until 9.30, which is getting late. Of course the BBC could always try to change the obligation but I don't know how willing the BBC Trust would be to agree to any changes
BBC3 on the other hand would make more sense - very rare any new programming is on before 8.30. However hasn't there been talk of the channel staring earlier in the past? If that is still an ambition they won't want to delay opening until 9pm
Exactly - and arguably depending on the nature of the programming "teen" shows may fit better in the 7pm hour on BBC3 than they would in a 7pm hour on CBBC.

Well presumably this is to counterbalance the loss of the teen-centric BBC Switch brand that had hived off teens from CBBC? Now BBC Switch has been cancelled, CBBC re-gains teens in their remit?
