...and the cbbc revamp!! The dates from when CBBC's and Blue Peter's viewing fugures dropped conicide with each other. Conincidence???

Yes, a coincidence. I don't think kids will have said "ew green ident and rock music as a theme, im turning to Nick Toons" do you? The CBBC revamp has been a marked improvement to the channel that previously looked like a cheap imitation of the original 2002-2006 presentation style.

If you do think there is a correlation between CBBC Rebrand and Blue Peter's, you clearly have no common sense. Maybe Blue Peter's viewing figures dropped because the show was no longer reflecting children's interests in a 21st century world, although the BP team tried to change, they ended up looking like a 40 year old uncle trying to get down with the kids, hence losing viewers. Nothing to do with the main CBBC brand.

its your call...
although I know kids that prefer blue peter now rather than in say 2004-2006/7.
I'm only saying I'm not keen on the office set, idents and presentation are really good and kids do generally seem to like it. its only the set.. don't bite my head off lol!

Hmmm... They do tend to notice things. With comments like 'CBBC don't listen to us' etc...

There's no doubting some kids do pay attention to such things, and good presentation (on any channel) does create a great overall feel. But I think it's very unfair to even partly link Blue Peter's decline to CBBC's office set. At the end of the day, if the programme is good enough members of the target audience will watch, pass on good reviews to other members of the target audience and ratings will increase. At the moment Blue Peter is not achieving its goals (and will struggle to do so with a tight budget and timeslot handicap) and to blame this on CBBC presentation is clutching at straws.

BP's drop in viewing figures was inevitable - the BBC decided to change who the target audience was to a much narrower group, and it now is only designed to appeal to 6-12 year olds where previously it was 6-15. So if a third of the previous audience are no longer being addressed by the programme it is hardly surprising that the figures have dropped.

Plus isn't the Office mainly on the CBBC channel and Blue Peter goes out on BBC 1, where there are no/little office links? Madness!

Terrible decision. Unless they're planning a change in September.

The office set is just in a small room shared with Newsround.

They don't share a room.

Err...yes they do share a room in as much as they are the same studio split into two all going through one gallery. Newsrounds.

When were you last there? They do not share a 'studio'. Neither of them actually use a studio anyway, they're both in converted offices, and they're both seperate, they don't share a 'studio floor'.
