I think the logo is trying to convey CBBC from the BBC, not CBBC BBC.

I realise that, but in a logo with the letters "BBC" already in it, the logo is not necessary! Can't they just replace the plain "BBC" letters in the top part of the logo with the corporate logo?

A corporate BBC logo doesn't scream youth or fun does it, silly boy!

And the logo without the corporate one, has no link to the BBC apart from the name.

What about the titles for EastEnders. The Corporate logo appears beneath it, but you don't call it "EastEnders BBC" do you!

Common Sense, a wonderful thing!

FFS, what is the fuss?? It's quite obvious that the 'BBC' logo is only to convey it's a BBC channel, It's makes so much sense even Brian from BB8 can figure it out. Rolling Eyes

Have any idents been released yet, or do we have to wait to relaunch day to see them?

I think this new logo looks quite good. The fuss is nonsensical. There is only so much you can do with a 'C' on its own, and two different variations have been done already, following on from a very boring C stuck before the boxes. Time for something different which doesn't involve spelling out 'Children's' or basing the logo entirely around the BBC boxes. The BBC letters fatten the logo out to make it into something visually engaging (in a way that a single C doesn't really do) whilst not relying on the BBC boxes to form the bulk of the logo. Then the box logo is needed in addition so that this is something instantly recognisable as a BBC product. The boxes are not superfluous - there are other businesses which use the letters BBC in a different style (like Blackburn Brakes Components) for example, who have large BBC letters on their office front! The boxes are instantly recognisable and bring the logo in line with every other BBC channel and station which has them. What's the problem? Only a complete idiot would read CBBCBBC - the way the logo is spaced out makes it obvious that it is not meant to be lumped together like that. Right, I think I'll go and watch BBCNEWSBBCWORLD...

So is studio 9 just lying idle? It's ridiculous to go to all the trouble to give CBBC a dedicated studio and then just get rid of it. Confused

Studio 9 has been there for over 10 years. It's not like it only got a few months use!

Besides, according to http://www.tvstudiohistory.co.uk/tv%20centre%20history.htm#studio%20summary TC9 is soon tobe the new home of 'Smart and Tmi'

Isn't it the actual 10th year of studio 9, its a shame that they left at the end of the 9th, though I doubt that they would have done anything to celebrate.

Interesting that Smart and TMi will come from there, I was hoping for a big old saturday morning event when I heard that TMi were going to TVC, plus they wont be able to have the gatherers on the street, all that they'll have are the staff and birds in the blue peter garden.

Its also a shame as if they are moving into studio 9, CBBC continuity couldn't return there, though heres hoping that they will have some sort of actual set, maybe even in 10 that cbbc one/two used for a while.

That is so pointless about TMi. TMi NEEDS Leicester Square otherwise its just another Saturday morning show. They won't be able to do the forfeit at the end, and I could imagine that the set will just be like a CBBC one as well, with no audience or anything.

How about this for a forfeit, The looser has to go in a ballerina frock and dance on the News 24 set!! I agree with you too, TMi NEEDS Leicester Square. TMi made it feel more... Live and exciting

I agree, that was the good thing about the show, even though there was no audience and it was a small studio, they could usually find a crowd outside somewhere. I reckon that they will try and reuse the old set, putting the ovals over the window bricks, unless they've actually had them replaced for actual windows! It won't work as well. The only thing that they could do is use a main studio and make it into a proper Saturday Morning extravaganza from TVC, I suppose it will all be revealed. Any ideas on when it begins? Will it be September 1st or 8th?

TMi returns 8th september.

The thing about the oval on the window is that its not actually part of the set, its an actual part of the MTV Studios building. If they were to replicate the series 1 set it wouldn't work as well with a corner window looking out onto the garden. All I can say is I hope that Sam, Mark and Caroline are in the studio with someone like Sophie McDonnell or some other ex CBBC presenter out on Leicester Square because Leicester square was something that made TMi different and more exciting.

What could have been one of the best Saturday morning shows for quite a while has just fell flat on its face if it stays restricted to the BBC studios.

Won't TVC attract bigger celebrities for TMi though?
