So is studio 9 just lying idle? It's ridiculous to go to all the trouble to give CBBC a dedicated studio and then just get rid of it. Confused

Studio 9 has been there for over 10 years. It's not like it only got a few months use!

Besides, according to http://www.tvstudiohistory.co.uk/tv%20centre%20history.htm#studio%20summary TC9 is soon tobe the new home of 'Smart and Tmi'

Isn't it the actual 10th year of studio 9, its a shame that they left at the end of the 9th, though I doubt that they would have done anything to celebrate.

Interesting that Smart and TMi will come from there, I was hoping for a big old saturday morning event when I heard that TMi were going to TVC, plus they wont be able to have the gatherers on the street, all that they'll have are the staff and birds in the blue peter garden.

Its also a shame as if they are moving into studio 9, CBBC continuity couldn't return there, though heres hoping that they will have some sort of actual set, maybe even in 10 that cbbc one/two used for a while.

And what moron would call it 'CBBC BBC' anyway? The corporate logo has to be inserted somewhere. Look at CBeebies.

Jeez, does no one read previous posts. The CBeebies argument has been explained more than once. The point that has been raised is that whilst most people would not read it as "CBBC BBC", the fact remains that the new logo displays the name as CBBC BBC, which is something we've never seen before on any BBC channel.

I've heard TC9 is currently being used as part of the CBBC Tour. I would have thought since CBBC moved to a virtual studio there wouldn't be much to see on the tour, except the Blue Peter Garden.

...but the new CBBC logo (which I love!) already has 'BBC' written in it. So it doesn't need the blocks after it. Unlike that 2 ident and BBC News.

I think the logo looks great and is a step in the right direction (definitely has hints of the '91 logo).

As for this CBBC BBC business, I really can not see what all the fuss is about. To me (and probably the majority of people), the logo reads CBBC from the BBC.

Surely you would naturally expect a service from the BBC to contain the BBC logo? Confused

*shakes head in disbelief*. The issue discussed here is not that the BBC logo comes after the CBBC acronym (or after "2" or "6" as you seem to be suggesting) but that the BBC logo is being positioned within a new logo that already contains the letters BBC.

I didn't say *I* was being confused by it, I was merely pointing out the unique situation that has arisen in that both BBC wording and BBC logo branding are being used in one creation.

I think the logo is trying to convey CBBC from the BBC, not CBBC BBC.

In the above logo throughout the nineties, this channel would be pronounced as "BBC2". Taking this as an example, then perhaps this new Children's offering should be called "BBC CBBC" rather than the other way around?

There is no need for the BBC blocks to be under a logo which already has BBC as part of the logo. Rolling Eyes
