I thought the problem was that the official target audience for CBBC was a now younger?
Incidentally are there any clips anywhere of the original Give Us a Clue series which use the same theme tune as Grange Hill?

Also, I'm fed up with the old "TV bosses said it could no longer reflect modern children's lives". OK, part of that may be true but the real reason of course is that there just isn't the budget for Children's television drama anymore.

I've loved the 90s theme! First time I ever saw Grange Hill was the Saturday morning repeats on Saturday Arradvark.
I watched the final episode today and I thought something dramatic might have happened (e.g. The school blows up) but it didn't.

I guess it depends on when you watched it, but I've always preferred the 1990s theme.

Well they can't blow the school up - it's needed for Hollyoaks! From the Media Guardian blog I understand there was an attempt at one of Phil Redmonds farewell speeches aimed at those that axed him, but unfortunately unlike Brookside, no vigilante hangings!

Who could forget such a classic theme, for me it is Grange Hill, far more than the original theme does.
For anoraks heres a cut down version of the full theme for nostalgia
it sure does bring back the memories of Children's BBC!

The 90's theme feels more like Grange Hill to me
You pretty much got it spot on, but not quite sure about Bear Behaving Badly yet.

I have heard and can't say it all true that:
Hardeep Singh Kohli will be the new presenter of Get 100,
JK & Joel will be the new presenter of Escape from Scorpion Island,
Bear Behaving Badly will be back in December, ?
(not sure) That a women and something from the past to present CBBC afternoons for the next 3 months.
I can't be sure if any of this is true but thanks for reading.

Ah yeah I remember the 90s theme best with the purple titles and the caretaker locking the gates at the end.
Happy days.
I saw a bit of the final episode - went out on a bit of a whimper but not surprising really. As if they were going to board up the school and have Tucker writing 'GAME OVER' on the windows.

Well, I've only gone and done a quick mock up of the ending using the 90s theme...

Looks like I must be so much older than everyone else here! As far as I'm concerned, only the original is the true theme, the 1990 version in comparison was so bland and dull, and for me marks the time when I stopped watching it!
I think the later version only has resonance with those under 25 or so; the people running television now are of the generation that grew up with the original theme, hence why that's the version you always hear!

The 90's theme tune was much better. Always irritates me in theme quiz's that the older one is used.

That's well funky - never heard that version before - is there an even longer version of that then?
