If only as licence payers we could sack the fools in charge of CBBC.
I don't see how making it just an hour long would benefit them in anyway - it certainly wouldn't cut costs, and I doubt it would boost ratings either.
I know from my youth I was more likely to watch a programme (such as Rugrats etc.) because it was part of Live and Kicking, and if instead it was scheduled before or after L&K I wouldn't have bothered with it. So even if they cut out all the programmes in TMi and make it purely a live show, it's not going to benefit them at all.

I don't know for sure - but I'd be surprised if they didn't. (ISTR that CBBC have a long-term hire on TC9 dating back to the days of on-air presentation coming from there) as they do/did with TC2 (which used to house XChange, CBBC Channel On-Air and Newsround Digital - and now houses Blue Peter)

Final bell for Grange Hill today after 30 years:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/7616045.stm
4.35pm BBC1.
Shame it's only Tucker returning, would be nice to see some more old faces return for the last ever episode but I guess it wouldn't work now.
Also, I'm fed up with the old "TV bosses said it could no longer reflect modern children's lives". OK, part of that may be true but the real reason of course is that there just isn't the budget for Children's television drama anymore.

Yes, they are.
I just caught the end of Grange Hill - did the original theme tune just make a reappearance for today, or have they been using it previously?
Grange Hill have been using the original theme for the whole of the final series.

It's odd, and slightly annoying that all commentators (such as Chris Moyles this morning) always think the original Grange Hill theme is the only theme
The 90s version must have been in use for at least 15 years, and most of yesterday's children that are now today's students, 20somethings etc will probably look fondly at the 90s version
