I saw a bit of Holly and the brain, not as much as I'd usually watch Ed & Oucho (even though I'm no where near the target audience), and the first thing that I couldn't understand was why they've gone with a puppet of a brain. That puppet isn't going to have the cute factor, it looks bizarre.

Spotted the first sign of things not looking good for Holly & The Brain...

Photo in the background (not on above screenshots) of Ed & Oucho with big sticky label saying "Back December 1st". I'm sure that wasn't there yesterday.

The brain is too posh and so up itself, if you know what I'm saying. Holly doesn't look too keen on the entire saga either.

I know what you mean from what I saw. It has no where near the appeal that Oucho has, the cute features and the differently interesting and appealing tone and structure of his voice and speech.
Maybe it would have made more sense to get Barney and Nev to do 3 months, or even get people like Abs and Rani in to cover, nothing against Holly, but its trying to fit her into Ed & Oucho's surroundings.

Is anyone else thinking that Juan from a month or so ago is doing the brain?

You can't try and recreate Ed and Oucho though, like Holly and the brain are. It just doesn't work. I too would like to see Abs and Rani, or maybe even Jake and a female presenter [despite him moving on to bigger and better things], but another puppet just wont work.

Will CBBC re-commission another series of Basil's Swap Shop?

That office set has got to go somehow, it's not really flexible.

When they moved studios, I presume that they did actually move studios when they changed the set (slightly), where did they move to, and how big is the studio? Is there room to either fit a small set on the other side of the studio, or room to move the desk out and put a sofa in?
The office moved from TC12 to NR1, the Newsround blue-screen area in the East Tower.

The set did indeed change, those blue and white lightbox 'ceiling panels' have gone, and ofcourse that weird low pointy part of the desk that used to stick out on the left.

Though that is addded when needed for desks. It looks as though the new area is a bigger space, or have they just utilised it more?

Seems CBBC has brought back 'The Pod' (portable programme-picking machine goes on the road, Boys vs Girls teams compete over who gets to pick the next show)

I know it's more of a CBeebies thing but this is the thread that comes closest and I don't think it deserves a new thread.

A boring Sunday afternoon in and flicking through the channels I thought I'd watch Balamory for no real reason.

And imagine my surprise when I saw an edited BBC1 globe from 1991-7... or at least it looked like it. It was shown as part of 'Eadie McCreadie's' introduction. It looked like the BBC1 globe but with a Times New Roman 'E' replacing the '1'.

EDIT: Here's a cap from the iPlayer confirming my suspicions.

Good spot! Surprised they put that new globe on top of the old one not fully opaque, so you can see the 1 on it.

One shows I never thought I'd see again! This must be about the first original production for CBBC (i.e. not on BBC1 or 2 at all) in ages...although noticeably the bit at the end where the on duty CBBC presenter conducted a phone vote has gone for obvious reasons.
