I'll say nothing, I thought of Otis, but then rethought to the current era to think of the turkey, etc. I can't really remember Phil in the broom cupboard. My earliest memories come from Andy Crane & Andi Peters and Edd the Duck.
Going back to a point of Dick & Dom, not specifically starring Dick & Dom (even though they do guest in a minute of it), if you haven't seen the Harry Batt episode of Gina's Laughing Gearsee it here.
I'm not sure whether it was done as a one off, or if it was a pilot, but either way it was great. Containing all the bungalow favourite faces, including Steve Ryde as the auctioneer of Anthony Worrel Thompson's sofa.

Am I the only one who when they said "something from the past" I immediately assumed Gordon the Gopher, or is that just me showing my age?

I saw a link just after Newsround and the brain speaks English but speaks slowly and the mouth doesn't really corrospond with the talking. Basically this puppet is really for the younger viewers, there isn't the subtle adult humour you get with Oucho.
Oh dear.. if thats the case, the CBBC Forums won't be happy about it. The whole thing looks daft, couldn't they just move the desk and put a sofa in or something. The puppet thing only works with Ed and Oucho.

What is that brain thing with Holly? When it was posted something from the past, I was thinking that either Mike from SMart would be back in the laptop, or that the turkey from Christmas was going to return, which may have been a better option. Does this brain talk, and is it English, or a different language?

It may well be that Ed just knows them from the comedy circuit and reccomends them to the Beeb as he is a comedian himself isn't he? He's certainly doing a few gigs with his time off. Or they could just be with the same agency as him. Isn't Holly a comedian as well.
I agree they could have scheduled the time off better over Summer, but it depends on what they are leaving to do. Does anyone actually know what kind of show it is?

And do they get the actors from a comedy agency, I've seen that a few of them have featured on various comedy programmes alone, and in acts together.

It's more the latter (Ed knows them/recommends to BBC)

I saw a bit of Holly and the brain, not as much as I'd usually watch Ed & Oucho (even though I'm no where near the target audience), and the first thing that I couldn't understand was why they've gone with a puppet of a brain. That puppet isn't going to have the cute factor, it looks bizarre. There would have been more people wanting to see Emlyn the Gremlin return most probably.
As I said previously, they should have scrapped the office for the months that they're away, it's never really worked with guest presenters, and they should create an additional space, even if it's rearranging or covering up the office set.

When they moved studios, I presume that they did actually move studios when they changed the set (slightly), where did they move to, and how big is the studio? Is there room to either fit a small set on the other side of the studio, or room to move the desk out and put a sofa in?
The thing with the office is that it works perfectly for Ed & Oucho, but not for others, it would be weird to see Ed & Oucho not in the office set, plus the desk is the perfect place to put a puppet.

That office set has got to go somehow, it's not really flexible.
