So the new theme tune will be slower.. not sure that siuts the fast paced program!!
I think the new format is awesome. It makes the show seem much more professional, glossy and expensive. I also noticed that the music in and out of breaks was lengthened on the in-to break parts and the theme music was in general had more clarity and rhythmn to it. really good!
Apparently the new theme tune will be totally overhauled (according to the BBC and GMTV) and only have subtle echoes of the current/previous theme tune.

The Scottish edition of the News of the World is claiming that stv won't be showing The Bill from the end of this month.
If this is true, it's quite different to dropping, say, Kingdom or Moving Wallpaper. It'll send viewers with Sky straight to Channel 993!
I can only think of one previous occasion when a programme of this callibre and popularity wasn't properly networked... and that was when Thames dropped Crossroads in the late 60s!!

Interesting... interesting...

I dare say it is! but not to worry! STV viewers will be getting another police drama!
Should the 'rumours' about talkbackTHAMES replacing the 5th remixed version of Overkill as The Bills theme tune, this forum will recieve the biggest outcry in history!
My favourite version is the current remix as it is fast yet has rythym and has the same melody as the original theme yet it still has the ending motive of the my second favourite remix - the 1988 theme.
I don't think our Scottish brethren will be missing much as a result of STV's recent scheduling decision. At least they will be saved the task of having to alter the brightness and contrast settings on their TVs to be able to watch the programme in its new (supposedly HD) format.
I have always enjoyed watching The Bill, but it's such a shame that their latest economy drive meant they had to loose the lighting technician and all of his/her equipment as well as an episode each week.
No, I havent seen the new programmes, I was commenting on the current show and by the new format I meant the new camera effect.
looking forward now to seeing a fresh look to the Bill. This left me wondering how the new idents might look. Maybe someone could make a mock of their idea and post it in the gallery.
The relaunch date is the 23rd of July so not long to wait!!
