Great ending - Shame for the announcer woman talking over the end credits remix.
Agreed. The music was a nice touch, but the announcer spoiled it. Sad

You should've watched on ITV1 HD, they don't have those pesky ECPs; always a clean credit sequence. Very Happy

If you PM me with your email addy, I'll send you an MPEG4 file of the final scene and end credits. Wink

Does anyone know if ITV 3 are now going to rerun any classic The Bill episodes at all? I'm hoping they do so in the near future.

or maybe ITV4 en-keeping with their crime themed shows.

Actually good point ITV 4 would be the best channel for the repeats.

BTW, rewatching the last episode I notice that the block of the flats that the policeman was held hostage was abandoned, does anyone know if they used this block quite often in The Bill I only ask as it look very similar to one I've seen in past shows but never noticed it been completely boarded up before (The sign says Claymore House, although the sign looks a bit too small as there seems to be the outline of where an old sign used to be)

It was Ashbuton House on the Parkmead back in 1998 then bits of the Jasmine Allen (which alternated between brick flats and concretey ones every other year) and was also used for bits of the Bronte back in 2004.

The uninterrupted credits also played out at the end of the ITV 3 repeat last night, nice to see whoever was pushing the buttons last night (ITV 3 is all automated announcing isn't it?) didn't put an irritating voice-over or promo over those credits. Smile

Thanks for the info, has always been boarded up or is this more recent (I haven't watched The Bill properly for the last couple of years), I suppose that now The Bill has ended the council will move in a pull those flats down.

No, It was filmed from by News International from 1984 to 1987, then 1987, due to industrial action at NI (On Artichoke Hill/Pennington Street) they moved after TREVs were attacked. They then moved to Barlby Road. They then moved to former Wine distribution centre in Merton where they remained until 2002 in 1990.

And they estate was shut in 2003, from what I read elsewhere.

No from I recall the Police station has been different at least 3 times (excluding the Woodentop pilot), it was originally filmed in Wapping for the first 2-3 years, the entrance from 1988 was really different to the last one, it was a small little entrance with a carpark up against the wall one side & an enclosed courtyard.

I'll post a few pics in a mo Smile

From the first "The Bill" episode, Funny Old Business - Cops & Robbers:

Bob drives into the front entrance, the entrance can be seen here:

Walking back to the way Bob came in, roof of the warehouse can be seen in the background up the top:

And the special message at the end, apparently "Citation needed" has been flagged up regarding this caption, I would add the image to Wikipedia but I haven't a clue how to so if anyone wants to feel free to do so:
