A good last episode! Sad to see it go.

Nice to use the old credits music mixed with new (which i was 99% sure they wouldn't as they never seem to do even if somethings ending !) and not just normal credits. ITV should use more of them, they look so much better than just the black standard credits , i thought the ending was quite poignant! Clever way they did the long scene to pan out to the station.

Also a nice touch to dedicate it to past and present police!

So that's it over 26 Years of The Bill, the end. The episode was brilliant really did the show justice and respect as was the title of the episode. Nice little touch at the end with the new music incorparated with the old music, nice arrangement.
Good work Talkback Thames.

Haven't watched the episode yet, just caught the tail end, but it was nice to see they didn't cut up the 'continuing action' style credits with an ECP - just an appropriate announcement by voiceover.

EDIT: Just rememebered that one of my very first posts here was about The Bill, back in 2003 and shortly before the first live episode.

Great ending - Shame for the announcer woman talking over the end credits remix.

Fortunately there aren't voiceovers on HD - pity they can't do the same for SD.

They were clean on ITV1 HD. I haven't watched The Bill for years now, but I gave it a look in tonight and it was a good episode with a nice send off, a nice speech by Meadows towards the end too, although a tad disappointed there were no walking Policeman on cobbles for the credits.... Laughing

Shame to see it go, but watching it in 2010 certainately wasn't The Bill I remember and grew up with.

Right at the top of the episode, just after the titles there was a homage. Shame they weren't used. Although I expect them to appear after NaT.

It was a brilliant last episode, touched some quite serious topics and it was a good ending. On London Tonight Smithy and Jack said that the last shot was quite tricky to do as it was just one shot! It worked extremely well and the remixed theme tune was a superb touch.

@nwtv2003 at the start of the episode IIRC the first scene was two pc's cant remember their names walking onto the estate showing them walking on the cobbles.

Did anyone record the episode, more specifically the ending, in HD?

I stupidly forgot to record it on my computer, and I loved the end music so much. I keep going back and listening to it.

Why the didn't use this in the 1st place baffle's me! With theme tunes that are as well known as The Bill's you shouldn't change the IMO. just do what they did tonight and added a modern twist!

Notice the credits scrolled too, which is against the network guidelines - not that they've much to lose by ignoring them now Laughing

I guess this was the orchestral remix we were all supposed to hear at the HD revamp but the producers thought better.
