It's far too CID Centric. Uniform hardly ever get an episode. ALL the episodes take the same formula too:
Prossie beaten up by dealer > Prossie Grasses > Police set up far fetched OTT Police sting operation involving said Prossie and Prossie feels bad for grassing the dealer up.
They also never stay in Sun Hill. Most eps the "Go over to Barton Street's ground" or "Pop over to Stafford Row's patch"
And the cast is just awful. If I were to say how many of the current staff to keep, I'd say:
Jack Meadows, Dale Smith, Mickey Webb, Nate Roberts and Mel Ryder. That is it. (I didn't mention Tony Stamp as he has left
)
I remember the days of Bob, Brownlow, Conway, Monroe, Quinnan, Page and all the rest. Even then we had our unbelievable characters (Luke Ashton) but the storylines accounted for that, If they didn't look like coppers, they were attacked and lost their bottle. If they did look like coppers they'd make an arrest.
What really pissed me off was the axing of both Reg Hollis and Tony Stamp. Those two were the Bill. In fact, there are some interesting bits about it in Graham Cole's Autobiography, "Life on the Beat". I implore you all to buy it, it's FAB.
Just to say: What made me love The Bill:
