!!! and when is there going to be a live episode again???

Good question, I think the last one was ITV 50th birthday, if I recall. They might do one for the show's 25th birthday, not far off.

I think The Bill's on excellent form at the moment, seem to be concentrating on the nub end of police work. Compelling storylines and plots of late.

I agree. The Bill is on top form currently. And I really like the new character, Sgt Callum Stone. Smile

Christopher "Burnside" Ellison is on EE at the moment isn't he. I think EE and The Bill are operating an exchange scheme these days!!

Sgt Stone is certainly a character in the true sense of the word-- although Sam Callis always seems to play those maverick roles!

The return of Beech, that would be something Smile

I watched an episode on YouTube the other day from around 1990. It was the era of Tosh Lines, Burnside, and that Scottish Sgt who I always forget the name of.

There were a series of complaints on Teletext recently about The Bill's habit of casting Scottish actors as villians but never as coppers. I texted in to remind them about Alastair Greig and the other Scottish CID man (played by Tom Cotcher) but it wasn't published.

The two Scottish ones I recall from that era were DS Alistair Greig (Andrew Mackintosh). There was also Alan Woods (Tom Cotcher), but I think he was a DC Confused

Yep, he was Glaswegian. In a Halowe'en special, he recalled a ghostly tale from the start of his career in his "home town" of Glasgow, I think he alluded to the city a few times in the show.

Sid Owen will be in the show for a few episodes in December, playing a chaffeur who befriends DS Turner and becomes his snout-- but "all is not as it seems". Is it ever?!

Hmm, if his character's anything like Ricky "I won't get involved" Butcher then I'm sure we're in for a treat....ahem.

Laughing Indeed! Are there any ex-Eastenders who haven't appeared on The Bill yet? Surprised
