Originally, there were tickets planted in the audience matching winning numbers from a foreign lottery. After two weeks, this changed so that everyone had a UK ticket, and that everybody who had won at least the three ball prize was given the option of keeping the money or tearing up the ticket for the chance to win the Last Chance Lottery jackpot.

Quite a good little show really, but never had a chance always being in Toothbrush's shadow.

Just got an email from ITV about The Vault saying:

Quote:
ITV duty office: Thank you for your e-mail. Though it was a popular programme there are no plans at the moment.

Yours sincerely

DUTY OFFICER - JT

They're now acknowledging that it was a popular programme!

The Big Call got 3.1 million in the ratings:

Which is an improvement of 500,000 from last weeks 2.6million so it appears to be gaining popularity...

I'd watch The Vault any day than this nonsense!

Indeed. It's been gone for a while...any date of Mel's/Gabby's return?

I'm 99% certain it's been axed. Shame, great format - though too many contestants last year (9 up from 8 up from 7). Also, slightly unfair at the end as the viewer game was far easier than the studio endgame.

ITV1's The Vault will be back in the schedule in the autumn as part of ITV1s new-look Saturday night that will also feature a new series of Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway . Don't forget that ITV plc is screening Junior Eurovision again this year, and possibly on ITV1!

How do you know The Vault will be back in the Autumn? This is news to me! And if it is on, woo hoo! That is great news! Anyone else know about this? Confused:

I reckon it will be back some time, as ITV have said themselves that it is a "popular" show, but as there has been no confirmation I don't think it will be any time in he near future.

I watched The Big Call last weekend and I thought it was a good programme.

I think that is was stupid that they axed it in the first place because they'd just recieved lots of publicity about the person who won £1million. People would have heard about that person and would have wanted to enter but 1 or 2 weeks later they axed it Evil or Very Mad

They didn't, they shortened the series from what had already been a very long run last summer as a consequence of the programme that was on after it being axed. The fact that the prize went down from £1m to £100,000 won't exactly have got more viewers tuning in

The Big Call is awful! How thick do you have to be to get on?! Rolling Eyes It seems the kink in ITV's pipework at the moment. If they get rid of this - things might start looking up.

So effectively it was axed. If they had no problem with it, they would have just left it. The publicity would have done the programme some good Very Happy
