My mate's mate (a lady) was one of the contestants for this year's show. She went out in week 4 or 5 I think but said it was the most grueling experience of her life.

Autumn would be a better bet. My mate was talking about it in October / November if memory serves, and she was out by then.
Coincidentally, when I was in London in the early part of last year I sat next to a couple of Apprentice researchers at the airport and heard them blah blahing about the people on the shortlist.

Is The Apprentice still recorded in the summer of the year before it is shown on tv?

Sir Alan Sugar only sold Amstrad. He still owns his property company, Amsprop.
He has quite a few business interests. A bit like Virgin in that they are here there and everywhere, but unlike Virgin the name is not plastered with AMS across every business!
