It was very nearly excellent enough to warrant the *mammoth* campaign it has been enjoying on billboards and buses for the last few weeks. I wonder how much that cost.
Sayed and that nutty bint with the hair like Aslan just have to go though.

Considering the girl who nearly blew the entire project by opening her mouth to say that the fruit was past its peak, it could be interesting to see just how much of her foot she can get in her mouth, so to speak, in future episodes.
Syed is definitely going to rub a lot of people up the wrong way because his style does that to a lot of people. I expect to see lots of arguments and shouting and so on after Syed opens his mouth.

Anyone else think that the hysterical curly haired Jo, the girls flaunting for free fruit, and the "Paul-esque" arrogant Syed definitely made, amongst other gems, for a great first episode for the new series?

For those who missed it, or just want to watch it again, you can see the episode in full on The Apprentice website: http://www.bbc.co.uk/apprentice/

Yes I was quite surprised to see that- it's an excellent innovation (I believe Top Gear is also going to be like this) if you ever miss an episode.
As an aside, the show launched with 3.6 million viewers last night- a very good performance for BBC 2...given what happened last year, it's also the kind of show that builds up a buzz, developing an audience as it goes.

That was such good television.
Why on earth did the BBC bother to schedule a weaker business reality show in the name of "The Armstrongs" after it?
I may have enjoyed that in another time slot. But after the power and intense viewing of "The Apprentice" personally I felt "The Armstrongs" programme left me cold.

Didnt watch Series 1, thought I'd catch this one.....blinkin brilliant like. Sayed should have got fired - from his childish insistance on calling their team "The A Team" to his refusing to stop negotiations to finally stabbing poor Ben in the back he irritated me completely. And lest not forget Ben was randomly selected as the team leader, and someone needed to merchandise the stall. I work in a supermarket and if you don't keep the shelves full people are going to come badger the sellers / counter assistants for products. He kept the sellers selling. He should not have been brought back into the room.
I hope Sayed goes next week.

Bring this back up rather than start a new thread.
The Apprentice - Series 2, Episode 2.
(spoiler space for anybody who hasn't seen it yet)
No brainer really that Nargis got booted out after her unbelievable attempts at selling a poxy calendar to Virgin, Calendar Club and Harrods. It was like getting blood out of a stone and she was lucky that the owners bought any of those calendars at all after a sales pitch that was so undercooked it was still raw.
I don't know why Jo's on a permanent sugar rush all the time, but I'd be interested to know exactly what she's on.
