ABC1's logo looks a lot like the current ABC logo.
Besides...why are you knocking the ABC logo!! It's nearly 40 years old and a marketing classic! ... as opposed to BBC branding which is two years old and more of an homage to political correctness and pop culture*** than a serious attempt at building and communicating a brand identity.
But I digress...
It's nice to see that Disney is preserving the ABC brand as the ABC portfolio of networks expands.
(unlike the BBC, which totally FUBARed it's branding when BBC3 and BBC4 were added)
EDIT
*** I should probably elaborate on the pop culture jab...it's not that pop culture is bad, but rather that when a brand looks like every other brand, it's hard to make the brand look unique and special...it's harder to emphasise the "point of difference" that's supposed to make the television audience choose to watch the BBC rather than something else. Of course, programming has a lot to do with this, but the brand is a unifying element...and right now, it's so scattered that I'd called it FUBAR. ABC1, on the other hand, seems to have a logo that fits in well with the ABC businesses.
Roone Arledge, a former head of ABC News and ABC Sports -- and the guy who introduced the famous news music themes -- likened it to the Pavlov's dog experiment in psychology. Every time you hear the ABC News music, you should immediately think "ABC News"....likewise with visual branding elements. I don't get a Pavlov's dog response from the current BBC branding.

Well, there's no ABC1 here in Wales (well, for me anyway). I just rescanned my box and Channel 15 has now completely disappeared. Some of the programmes on that lineup don't look too bad really, I was looking forward to them.
You won't get ABC1 in Wales because the channel is on the SDN Mux - and the TCM downtime space is currently leased to S4C2

This very handy page will explain the SDN Mux in more detail.
http://uk.geocities.com/talk2me2u/mux.html
QVC's space in Wales is used by S4C Digidol
TCM's downtime is used in Wales by S4C2
6pm-7pm on TCM's downtime is used in Scotland by TeleG*
There's chatter over at DS that NTL are set to introduce a new form of compression for its DTT signals, although some think this is just an exaggerated rumour.
*What exactly does TeleG show?

abc1 is now showing a rolling video promo on channel 15, including General Hospital, Sports Night and 8 Simple Rules. I'm looking forward to it, even though I'll be at work when it's on during the week. I'm glad I have a DVR.
