LoveTV!!
Hello,

Does anyone have any ideas about whats happening with this channel?
It has been ages since I heard news on this and was wondering if its still going ahead or if it has been dropped. It did sound a good channel, from the makers of Disney, and I was looking forward to another entertainment channel as 'freeview' doesn't have many entertainment channels on there really but am getting dissapointed as I haven't heard anything recently.
I would be really gratefull if anyone had any news to help me out a bit.

Thank you, LoveTV

I think LoveTV's realised that much!

According to the guys over on Digital Spy, it's launching this winter. However, as it was originally due to launch in March, I wouldn't count on it.

According to this, ABC1 will launch on 27 September and be available on Freeview 6am to 6pm.

Methinks that there are plans for it to be paytv ultimately......perhaps on Top Up TV.

OK, thanx guys for the information.

I am dissapointed at the fact that it will only run to 6pm but hope they will proceed on the plans that it will run 24hrs.
Plus, I hope it will not turn over to Top-Up-TV. I hope that statement meant that they will think about launching it on to Sky, NTL and Telewest but keep it on Freeview aswell. Fingers Crossed!

Anyway, once again, thanx for the help.

Interesting - it seems that there'll be no commercials during the first few months.

OK guys - factoid one. ABC1 will be on Channel 15 and on Freeview. It will NOT be on TopUpTv even though it's on SDN. ABC1/Daytime was always envisaged as a Free-To-Air channel and is being allowed onto Freeview because of it. There was no talk of Ideal World possibly becoming a TUTV channel was there? Just because this one actually could have some decent output doesn't mean it's going to go to the TUTV elite.

Also ITV3 will launch in November also - possibly as a timeshare with More4, though I don't know what LCN number. 35 is the lowest available one isn't it? More4 will be on 24 come January. Perhaps Price-Drop will disappear sooner than we think.

What's a "factoid"?

Is this like when they went from centigrade to celcius?

Did I miss a meeting?
