Would this programme be better off in a 22:30 slot after the News At Ten one night?

I doubt it. It wouldn't fit at all on a weeknight

I couldn't see it getting higher ratings in any other slot, its never going to be must see, talked about tv

Watching last night for the first time I thought it was quite good. Richard Wilson slightly surprised me at how good he appeared to be at improvisation, though I guess it's down to a lot of acting experience. Lee Mack in the detective scene had me laughing quite a bit as he turned it into a comedy routine.

The show does seem to work much better now that the other actors are 'accepting' (and going along with) what is being improvised, rather than 'blocking' it which seemed to occur in the early episodes. Though it's the first show I've seen proper I did manage to catch a couple scenes from early episodes via YouTube.

Yes this seems to be getting better each week.

Who is that Rufus chap? What has done on tv before?

He was VERY good and most certainly deserved to win! The car-crash chav was so realistic! lol

I take it the episodes are/were filmed on Thursdays, as this week Rufus made a reference to 'who would be out on Valentines day', or similar words.

I enjoyed Saturday's programme: certainly one of the funnier programmes in the series.

However, has anyone noticed how Thank God You're Here has been starting progressively later each week? It started at 9pm, and has shifted in 6 weeks to 10:30pm (a shift of 90 minutes). Suspicious.

Well everyone agree it's original slot was too early. I wouldn't read much into it though - Saturday night programmes on ITV always move around. Even Ant and Dec can find themselves on at 8pm one week and 5.30pm the next.

I agreed as well but I doubt everyone agreed Brek. Wink

It was a good show this week, loved the bit when Paul Merton put the woman down on having not read the Middlemarch book.

Steve and Rufus were brilliant.

I enjoyed this show, it touched my laugher button many times! missed the first few shows (the first on i saw was with the girl from Coronation Street).

The only thing I didn't get was what was the point in winning, many of the guests appeared more than once and so it was not like if you win you can come back.

For me a good time slot would have been around the 10:30 mark, well actually it didn't really matter as recorded it and watched it on Sunday mornings while curing the hang over! but it seems like an idea show you could just pick up from whenever you started watching.

Although I enjoyed it I can see it not returning for another series, nobody else I know watched it and the show kept moving time slots!

Have got some of the Aussie version on download to see if they are any good? If they are it would be nice to see the on ITV2.
