Thank God the hearts are back

Yup at 12.20 the hearts logo was back on our screens. Thank God that christmas logo has gone thet was crap. Though it might not be long left for the hearts? So make the most of it.

Also anyone seen the new Channel 4 idents pretty good.

You mean the other way round: the christmas logo was ace, the hearts are crap. I'm not convinced the new look is coming on 7th January anyway! Lets just wait and see though.

Let's get it right, shall we? They're both crap. If you are going to run continuity on an idents-only basis, there needs to be a selection of them, not just the same one each time. No variety=boring=switch over to the other side....

Even UTV, with what was quite the most boring ident they've had in years, had a few different versions, animated bits with the presenters reduced to plasticine models and it was interspersed with in-vision.

The regional idents haven't put in a reappearance yet, as the YTV Weather just came straight on.

And of course theres no local news today, so 5.55pm tommorow may be the first reappearance!

BTW, UTV have a new ident (at least one, anyway) from today, a woman touches the screen which ripples and a b/w UTV logo appears, which then fades to a black backround.

Watching out to see if there are any other ones on the way...

Granada have really surpassed themselves with lack of imagination this year!!

How can you say the hearts are good?
At least the xmas ident had a jingle, all we get with the hearts is the v/o part of the soundtrack and the rare occasional full jingle! The xmas ident was as has been said 200% better than last years, at least an effort was made and we didn't have to look at the Granada logo which is very dated.

What are the new channel 4 idents like? I haven't seen them yet. Is it a dramatic change?

I didn't like the Christmas Ident becos it didn't have a regional input to it. The Hearts were better when they had the animatations before them!

OK I admit that the hearts are a bit dated and stopped with the hearts logo at the beginning but it will probably end soon with no regional identity which no one likes. I admit the xmas logo did have a nice jingle but no regional identity so make the most of the hearts and GMG region.
