I was watching an episode of the Simpsons the other day, and saw the Thames logo on their TV set. Unfortunately the episode was dubbed into Japanese, so it was a bit difficult to know what was going on, but the idea was that Homer was watching PBS to see a 80's British sitcom which seemed to be a violent The Young Ones type thing (that was BBC though, so I don't know what it was exactly spoofing).
Just when it was getting started, it got interupted with a message to ask to pledge more money (Can any of the US readers tell us if they really do that - tease people with a bit of a show and then don't show the end until people pledge money?). Frustrated, Homer pledged money, but when he didn't pay up he got chased down the street by Big Bird, Elmo and the Teletubbies!
Anyway, since this is a presentation forum, I guess the point is that it was the famous 'Reflections' ident and I wonder if there are any other UK TV logos that are known quite so well internationally? Only other one I can think of is the BBC (although I think American news still used the old slanted one when reporting about Jill Dando) and possibly ITN, since it seems like they supply half the news to CNN International these days (so much that it seems like they have much more UK coverage than BBC World)
